US Pilots Labor Discussion

I'm not any angrier now than I was the day I heard Parker was going to ruin my airline by buying the worst airline in the world. I don't know the numbers you refer to but I do know you got all the 190's and all the new 330's. In the September crew news it is explained that additional widebodies require more pilots, therefore all east pilots will be recalled shortly.

You got your upgrade back on the backs of the west pilots, plain and simple.

Regarding what would have happened to AWA without the acquisition I am very certain the merger with Delta would have been quick and very successful. Their pilots rejected it handily because they were smart enough to know they wanted nothing to do with the "real" US Airways.
First, your airline didn't buy it. Zanzibar. The cash was from Wisconsin and Republic. AWA cash was flowing like blood in the streets. Secondly, AWA never had the 330 's on order from the start. So how did the east steal them when we booked the orders long before the AWA came along looking for a life preserver? They were coming from where they were ordered, to fly the routes they were originally intended- PHL and CLT to Europe. PHX never was in the plan, nor will it be. You don't have the traffic there. You need to start getting your facts straight. Nobody got their upgrades from West pilots.

Lots of other airlines do it. You guys live in an antiquated era of paper bids and no PBS. I'm not saying PBS is great. Only that it's the way most airlines in the 21st century do it. So you can't act like it's somehow impossible. The idea that f/a's must be paired with pilots or the house will collapse, is a remnant of the past.
What are you talking about? Our bid sheet and SAP is probably the best thing going. Why do you think management wants to take it and replace it with PBS?There is no way an east pilot will go for PBS. Paper bids? more fabrication.Every bid we have is available electronically.

I needed a good laugh and your lecturing about getting facts straight after those supposed "facts" in your post provided it. Thanks...

Jim
Yes, those 330 s that AWA ordered are still being built. Thats a fact! Show us where AWA had booked one 330 order please.....

Well I'm glad to see at least one west pilot can admit their ignorance.

"On the backs of west pilots........." yeah, keep dreaming.

Incorrect, according to the latest FAQ from About US:

Q. As other airlines add capacity back during this recovery, is
our strategy changing at all, or are we just staying flat during
the next few years?
A. Scott explains, “The domestic market is mature and our
domestic growth will remain flat for the foreseeable future. The
international market, however, does provide US with growth
opportunities and we have announced new service from CLT to
Madrid (MAD), Dublin (DUB) and Sao Paulo (GRU) for 2011. We
also plan to add PHX-Europe service once additional A330-200s
arrive. Our next delivery of 330-200s arrive in 2013.”

Try reading again, AWA 5 years ago never had 330's on order, plain and simple, "Mr. my money is on Doug Parker"

If I had a choice to put my money on Doug Parker or Mike Cleary, I'd choose Parker in a heartbeat. At least Parker has some accomplishments to point to.

How's it working for you so far? I love the road shows all the AWA kids whine to Kirby and Parker like little kids, thinking he 's got our back, boy are you in for a surprise.

"Paper bid" is an expression, to mean pre-constructed lines as opposed to PBS. I'm sure your "paper bids" are available electronically. This isn't the dark ages.

As for "the best thing going," I highly doubt that. Management wants to replace it with PBS because it saves them man-hours and pilots can be scheduled more efficiently. It's definitely a manpower issue. But to say the old style bidding is better than PBS is very debatable. Unless you've used and lived with both, it would be really hard to make that determination. I do understand that East pilots are set in their ways and resistant to change though.

Check with any former AirCal pilot and you will find your statement incorrect.

In-and-Out Burgers pays better anyway, but nice try amigo.
I do .....my brother, currently manageing a pool company near Palo Alto. So you can stop trying to spin this .

The only true statement in your post is that AWA did not have 330's on order. The new and improved US Airways (without AWA would not exist) did but the east makes sure they only benefit from the new and improved. The rest of your post is just so full of BS that it is just not worth addressing. Enjoy living in your fantasy world. It's coming to an end sooner than you think.

You have to understand this is in stone here.

Do you watch the same crew news that the rest of us do? We don't whine to Parker and Kirby thinking they have our backs. We put them up against the wall with real questions in an attempt to hold them accountable. Notice Parker hasn't come to a west crew news in quite a while. He's smart enough to let Scooter take the heat while he answers the softball questions from the east wimps.
