US Pilots Labor Discussion

Black Swan,

Pretty amazing to me that a pilot is not worried about another pilot getting called in for something like writing up oxygen on an aircraft that has already had a problem with fumes. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Bob
Sorry Bob. Thieves deserve immediate termination. USAPA should throw them out of the union post haste as well.

Well I have got a little trivia for you clowns:

Name the only pilot in the history of the FAA to get his medical back after being diagnosed as Bipolar?

Hint: East pilot

Assuming static fleets, attrition in stand alone on East yields approximately the same number of upgrades as would the Nicolau. Given the severe second dip recession we're heading into (see today's non-farm payroll numbers and this week's ISM numbers? Horrid) I'd say static fleet or a reversion to absolute fleet minimums will be coming soon. Separate ops for the West means East does not steal our upgrades. If you want to live under LOA93, that's fine with us.

Upgrades are based on retirements of captains, or first officers in higher paying equipment. It has nothing to do with the Nicolau or DOH. It has to do only with one's 65th birthday.

Parker has stated on several occasions that the company is at, or very near, minimum fleet numbers already. He can't park more than one or two airplanes. What's that....2 airplanes....about 20 or 25 pilots? We're hiring off the street in the east in a few months (if we aren't already.)

Living under LOA 93 means that the west can't steal the east upgrades, which are coming fast and in FAR greater numbers than the west. All those angry F/Os you like to talk about? They'll be captains in five years or less even with minimum fleet. And those new hires coming in the fall? Blockholder F/Os and the narrow body, or reserve wide body F/Os. Think they'll want to vote in the Nicolau and vote out its staunchest foe, USAPA and relegate themselves to reserve status, or the street come next furlough?

Keep what you got, westies, with our blessing. We'll keep ours (and, yes, even LOA 93.) The movement upward is over here. We're even hiring westies to the bottom of our list. Imagine that! They get to fly f/o for the failed ALPA champion, former MEC Chair Bill Pollock, on the E190! That should be fun for both of them!

Metro,

Sounds to me like a case of Fire,Ready,Aim! If it was you that was called in I woudn't be saying terminate him. I think maybe the details need to come out. It could be me on my next trip because I don't look at the clock to see when something breaks. If it breaks an hr. before departure or if it breaks one min. before door closure I write it up. Can't see changing the way I operate now. Had the PHL CP and assitant CP on a PHL PHX flight a couple of months back. I wasn't happy with the aircraft so we were late like 45 min. Only thing I heard from the CP was good job and thanks for the nice ride.

Regards,

Bob

Fire THEM!? You all should be kissing Mr. Parkers ring. Without his generosity, you'd all be collecting shopping carts in a Walmart parking lot.
Metro,

Kiss his ring? Doug ought to be kissing our posteriors!

Bob

What's there to know? They slow down, screw with the operation all at the behest of your fake union. That's stealing from the company. That makes them criminals and thieves. Fire them.
Metro,

On behest of the union? I got an email from usapa telling me that I should not participate in any illegal job action.

Regards,

Bob

Right, and about a third of those hitting 65 are in the right seat on the East assuming static fleets, which is pretty much a guarantee with the Western world economies imploding.

Bob, your willingness to prove my point is epic. Thank You. You're probably going to be labeled a traitor now but its still appreciated...even though you're clueless as to what I'm referring to.

Okay Metro, I get it. But in the future you should utilize a tongue-in-cheek emoticon, otherwise we waste a couple of hours and several pages worth of WTF responses.

Your density is not my problem....actually it is. Strike that.

Bullshit. You were trying to intimidate by saying guys should be outed. Did this thought just occur to you, or have you had visions of turning in a guy that carried a broken galley latch back to a maint. base before? Not a path to success.

Wow,
To all, my sincerest apologies for my lack of ability to express my thoughts.

I never meant nor would condone the outing or intimidating another crewmember.

Im sorry i seem to have infered that.....

I was slapped accordingly by several on these boards, i stand corrected....

Metroyet, this is a perfect example of why this message board is so entertainingly addictive and such a waste of time all at once. Maybe next you can tell what should happen to USAir pilots that don't still polish their ALPA pin.

It just keeps getting better. Lemme know when you catch up.

1. Still no word on this alleged Kirby incident?

2. Thanks MM, I will enjoy my vacations. The bad news is, if a fragmentation occurs, I will still get my vacations, and you will get early retirement.

3. Phoenix. The World According to Garp sucked almost as bad as that latest ITT News. Sorry Brice and Eric...loved the banjo, the Star Wars thing..not so much.

4. Maintainence discrepancies should be addressed when they are discovered. Key word..addressed.
