Compare W2s...any line holding A320 captain on the West makes more than Bob or any other East 767s. It's called work work rules, and getting paid for cancellations and getting paid full credit for deadheads, plus getting more vacation and picking up trips from other pilots. It all adds up.
If that is a bet Ill take is . Checking back the last 13 months I've had 8 yes eight trips bought, 0 cancellations and did not deadhead at all. Add it up if I flew 85/ mo. Your just like your big mouth firend AMES ,your mouth is in motion before your brain( as little and booze soaked as it is) is engaged. And speaking of you story telling phx buddy ames .....where are you.

Well, I'm glad you have that cancellation pay and full deadhead credit. You need it. the west cancels flights like I change my underwear. And, geez, I haven't had to DH in years. Maybe, your scheduling needs to be looked at. Just a thought

It has been over 13 months since the Ninth Circuit Court published their ruling that the Addington case was not ripe for adjudication. In a split decision, Judges Tashima and Graber left “USAPA to bargain in good faith pursuant to its DFR, with the interests of all members — both East and West — in mind, under pain of an unquestionably ripe DFR suit, once a contract is ratified.” [Addington, FN1 pg. 8008]

According to Mike Cleary, the Ninth Circuit's decision allows USAPA, which represents all US Airways pilots, to freely bargain the terms of the seniority integration.

If USAPA is "free to abandon the Nicolau Award" and negotiate a new contract then why is the Association preparing for another seniority integration trial and potential appeals, which could last for years, if "USAPA is free to bargain in good faith" and "abandon the Nicolau Award?"

Meanwhile, how many hundreds of thousands of dollars in pay, retirement, and other contract improvements will US Airways' pilots lose, both East and West, during the process? With USAPA's induced fence with no contract improvements the time period for no merger pilot economic benefit could approach ten years during the new round of litigation.

I seem to be DH ing more and more frequently. Even doing it on east metal a few times. So while riding in the back as the highest paid pilot on the flight, I have to wonder about that synergies quote from a few years back.

Also, have had some cancelations in both CLT and PHL lately. Could have operated, but ya know, there just ain't an available West airplane. Once, they took my perfectly good plane to operate another West flight and cancelled mine and sent me to the hotel. That change of RON pays time and a half, when I DHed on the east ship the next day to PHX, this time getting paid over 1.5 times what the captain earned for the flight.

I am betting that synergies thing is adding up for the company.

Probably not our scheduling, more likely usapa's failure to negotiate in good faith that needs looking at.

Good thing usapa started a lawsuit and lit the fuse of the firecracker that is going to blow up in their face.

Hows that for a 4th of July reference?

USA320Pilot,

Cleary has been under constant attack from the company.

Cleary has been under constant attack from your group of (ALPA) buddies.

Cleary has been under constant attack from the west pilots.

Cleary has been under constant attack from some of our east pilots.

Mike Cleary was voted into his position by the majority of pilots.

Guys like me want to keep Cleary right where he is.

Hate

I have asked before but never got an answere.

Is Cleary the guy who accused Parker of furloughing as a negotiating tactic in the CLT crew news?

Is Cleary the guy who never shows up at the company/labor monthly meeting, and the one time he did, made an idiot of himself showing his lack of understanding about the 9ths ruling and why his organization is under fire?

Is Cleary the guy who accused two west reps of being felons, then illegally had them removed from an open union meeting, violating their LMRDA rights?

Is Cleary the guy who singlehandedly started a lawsuit against the company for not negotiating during NMB mediated negotiations?

Is Cleary the guy about four inches shorter than the height challenged Seeham?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you know why the West wants to keep him right where he is also!

nic4,

Cleary is being pushed by the majority......end of story!

Hate
We like Cleary, Hate is 100% right, MAJORITY rules, get it., PS No NIC for you ever and no growth for you thanKs to your AOL boys so live with it!!! YOU chose not to participate.

No Jake, I personally never considered you, the east alpa loyalist , westies who refused to honor a legally binding cba election, or people that cross other groups lines (where they weren't taking their jobs) scabs.

I'm not an ALPA loyalist.

I started disliking ALPA the day I got off probation and realized I'd been thrown under the bus a the A scale pilots preceeding me.

Truth be told the majority of APLA pilots would have prefered to see USAirways disappear.

Although supporters want to believe the only reason to dislike USAPA is ALPA sour grapes, there are lots of reasons to dislike both.

But, Google scab and I bet you see that definition and not "one who uses his or her legal right to change unions".

You know what you are and it's eating you up from within, regardless of whether or not you accept or reject the label.
