check out 1-800-US-DAILY . looks like the company is coming after anyone who ilegitimatley (hope i spelled that right ) called in or calls in sick between dec 23rd-jan 3rd. the bulliten sais that it may include diciplinary action and loss of compensation. let the wippin begin. the unions are gonna be all over this.

I hate to say it, and I know I am going to get plenty of snap backs. In my opinion, everyone who called in sick from Friday morning on, should not get paid and get a drop dead letter in their file. Forget about documentation, forget about previous record or warnings. If they want to stick together and cause grief to the customers , then stick together now. Sorry for the legitamately sick people and the ones with good records, but trying to figure out who was sick and who was not, will not work.

It is a waste of time, it will never stick. There is no way to prove who was sick and who was not. Usairways is simpling doing this to apease the Feds breathing down their back and to redeem themselves to the public.

That's the problem, how can you figure out how many were legitimately ill, that's why you can't fire everyone.

Just another example of reactionary management from a team who is deep in over their heads, this includes loud mouthed Bronner and Lakefielf the golden boys who are airline clueless.

Let me get this straight.
In your opinion if one of those individuals that called in sick was legitimately sick they wouldn't get paid and would have a drop dead letter put in their file?

That is the most asinine thing I have ever heard. It's that type of mentality that brought Union's onto the property in the first place.

And so let it be said THIS Lakefield message is EXACTLY WHY unions are on the property at this company. It wouldn't surprise me if CCY offered a 'bounty' to all the supervisors for each employee "kill."

See I knew PITMTC would be typical management.

You know it would never stick and the company would be made fools if they tried.

You have to follow progressive steps of discipline and follow each groups attendance control program.

The unions would make mincemeat of the company and futher damage the non-exsistant labor-management relationship.

And you can't just say people were not sick, you have to have proof if you are going to discipline, just like I said you and your cohorts don't know how to manage and anyone who was disciplined who has a good attendance record would win if and when it goes to arbitration.

Glad to see you don't put any of the training labor relations gives to you to good use.

i think it will be dificult to pin everyone. it sais that they will evaluate anyone with excesive sick calls between those dates . all i can say is get a note . also even isf nothing is done internally they should put this out on the media to let passengers know that something is being done. its getting bad guys , really bad .we really have to think about whats important here . blame management all u want . yes they should have planned better . heck even asked the invol's to work over the holidays . i don't know. maybe al crellin should be fired but these employees called in sick at their own will . they also should be diciplined . how i do not know but something has to be done . the blame goes to both sides . the only people hurt here are the customers and those employees who came to work and did a superb job considering the circumstances. i am pretty sure they wanted to be home with their family as well on christmas . what makes the others any different. we got to stop the blame game here ant take responsibility for our own action .we are grown adults not children. this goes for management and front line employees. the thing is that the employees have much more to lose here than management . they will walk away with their millions. what are the employees gonna walk away with ,pride ? pride don't pay the bills my brother. that blue check does. happy new year to all. i sereously mean that . god bless . we need it.

US Airways Appeals for Employees to Help Alleviate Staffing Problems in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- US Airways appealed to its employees to come to Philadelphia International Airport on their days off this weekend to help boost staffing, hoping to avoid the type of Christmas fiasco that left the airline with too few workers to fly all its planes and process luggage.

U is like a badly injured person who is bleeding profusely and is in pain. Management comes along, ignores the bleeding, and administers aspirin to treat the pain symptoms.

Unfortunately, the aspirin only causes the bleeding to get worse.

Lakefield and the execs in their zeal to bludgen employees, is just making it worse. Stop the bleeding, Bruce, not just treat the symptoms.

Work for free? On a day off? To help out? I'm speechless at the gall-but strangely a little bit in admiration of USAirways' management's HUTZPAH at suggesting that people work for free on a day off. Geez.......

I can hear it now.
Were asking you.... no begging you to work on your day off, please, oh please help us save the airline. BTW did we mention were going to screw you in bankruptcy court... again?

Work for free?

Damn Bruce could not give back a penny while most of the workers gave back 21%.

Lets see if you work for free and get hurt, guess they won't pay you workers comp either.

This management team is the laughing stock of the airline industry.

Just when you think you have seen the dumbest thing, the company opens its mouth once again.
