What's new

USAirways Magazine

Does anyone think that perhaps AA will eventually do away with some of the frills (not as barebones as US) due to them wanting to freeze pay raises. Possibly make the cuts elsewhere if they can't get what they want. Again I doubt they would cut the perks as low as US as we set the bar in all time low. If they need to save some dough and it doesn't come from the employees then where will they get it from?

I would be surprised considering they continue to make announcements about enhancements in premium cabin service. Look at their new enhancements on Hawaii service--and Tempe thinks they are competitive????

they have powdered cream

OH MY GOODNISS--I guess I have been too busy drinking the decent wine they serve 😛 Actually, I have had coffee, but I think that it had Baileys in it. Or, maybe I did and the girl made it before serving it, so I didn't see what she put it in it?

DL's service amenities are not as good as UAL and AA, but their inflight entertainment is very good and must be costly. I'm not sure why you say UAL spends more money that AA on service, but I tend to think AA's service amenities are just as good as UA and in some respects slightly better or slightly less. The AA Admirals Clubs are better than UAL's. One thing UA does is serve coffee in these tiny china cups and I feel like you get a shot of coffee. AA serves coffee in plastic coffee mugs, but I feel like I get a decent cup of coffee. I've never had a cart used to serve in FC on UA and on AA I've seen that at least 3 times in the past 2 weeks and I've been on 7 flights that serve meals in that 2 week time period.

I don't know anything about CO because I haven't flown them since the early 90's to Europe in FC when they had it.

How does one actuially READ that magazine? There are maybe two articles in there. If you removed the ad content it would be a brochure!

The only reason why I read it this month is because of this thread.

Hi Everyone,

It's me again, your favorite company apologist. This particular ad--regretfully--made it through submission to the magazine and through the editorial process with the greeked copy still left in. Obviously, this should not have been and so our vacations team, marketing, the magazine and corp comm have adopted a razor sharp resolve to catch details like this in the future before prime time.

Once again, we regret that this happened and though we wish we were perfect we're not. Please drop me a line if you want to know more, I welcome hearing from you.

Best,
Morgan Durrant

would you care to explain the geographical "oversight" with SYR and MDT in the september magazine? sorry, syracuse, NY and harrisburg, PA--city codes are, apparently, responsible for "greeks".
it's really quite embarrassing. not surprising, though. you might consider that upstate new york represents a bastion of pre-america west merger usair support. i'd go into the "heritage", but you can look on the side of most aircraft. and, at this point, the "new" us airways product and reliability has probably evaporated away the loyalty associated with that heritage.
what's more embarrassing is that a self proclaimed "new" us airways "apologist" (that term has been so far removed from its historical and linguistic context) uses two run on sentences in explaining an editorial oversight. incredible.

I'll second that.

Perhaps they are setting us up for the new monthly "Find the Typo" contest. Whoever finds the most typos wins... and bonus prizes for finding ones that weren't intentional. I wonder what the grand prize would be?

AA has 3 magazines. One for Anerican, one for American Eagle, and one for premium cabin customers. I actually like their premium cabin magazine.
I didn't think there was such a magazine with the name Anerican? I am sure you enjoy yourself with a double dose of gin and tonics too? 😉
By the way, my spelling is horrible too, so don't have to say another word. The whole reason for this post, was to mention mistakes in the mag. X meant frequency to Los Cabos, out of PHX and OAK. Big mistake, who cares! We fly there a lot, and the flights are always full!! 😱

It is VODKA amd tonic....now be a good stewardess and get me some more ice...oh. And put this bag in the overhead.

It seems the brainwashing is working. Why worry about details when you are filling planes? Thank god your copetitors haven't figured out this little secret.
