Usairways To Do All Hawaii Flying

Heard AWA is having alot of trouble getting the 180 min rule on thier 757s. Usair already has Hawaii on our certificate. (think we did the proving runs 10 or 11 years ago). Heard we will use the 767, any news on this?

I said a rumor ,I have know idea if it's true or not it was metioned in school. I personally could care less who flies it. Just curious if anyone on your side heard anything, besides we are one team now.l

Today’s US Airways POR Exhibit A - Airbus Term Sheet, provides the following Airbus aircraft delivery schedule:



2009 – 2010 – 30 A320s and 10 A330s

2011 – 2013 – 20 A350s (up to 10 aircraft can be converted to A330s)

2013 – 2015 – 10 A350 options with delivery positions



Total A330/350 firm orders – 30

Total A330/A350 firm orders and options with delivery positions – 40

Total A320 firm orders – 30

Never be too totally surprised if some things come to pass. There is sometimes at least a grain of truth in every rumor.

yeah sometimes there is a little truth. Remember when it was speculated that HP and US would merge? How many said, "Never Happen" and the like? LOL.... As for the freako in the all caps. What if it were true. Get medicated. Should anything but facts be posted? sure but thats not always the case. Besides, who in hell cares. Believe half of what you hear and read. Boy, I'll tell ya....whew.

True on that with the "never happen". TWU 580 was still in denial until recently.

As for allcaps, wait until they announce time-of-check-in for standby travel. That person's head will pop like a gerbil in a microwave. 😱

There will not be a merger between US and AWA. There could be a codeshare between the two but definitely not a merger.

Hawaii may be extended over-water, but last I checked, it's still a state -- NOT "international".

HP ETOPS is back on track and besides, US doesn't have enough 767s to move them off the routes they're already scheduled for...especially as a/c continue to be returned and leave the fleet (mostly 737s). I'd give a 80% chance, today, that HP will fly the Hawaiin routes with HP 757s.

Messing with your travel Benefits? If anything it will be Better for HP employee's as you will have more travel options. Plus US Airways has very good non-rev travel benefits because they are free. International is also free besides the taxes. Take a chill pill :cold: and lets just sit back and see what happens. We all will eventually work together and talk how crazy it was when we merged and laugh about it.

Silly rumour, hopefully... that's HP flying and should stay that way until post merge and fence. Plus US can't spare the widebodies anyway, and it would be a #### operationally to get ther planes and the crews there.

Anyway, on to more exciting news for all of us... where on earth are we going to fly all those A350s? If you figure the 10 new 330s will replace the 767s, that leaves 20 widebodies in addition to the transatlantic capacity we have now.

When we get these planes the industry will be totally different... maybe we'll break into Asia and deep South America, or expand Transatlantic flying?

All of us who are sniping about seniority and non-rev check-in times might be laughing about it before drifting off to sleep in the lower deck crew bunks in a few years on the way to Singapore. 🙂

Not totally impossible.....there will be at least 5 767's that will be taken off the seasonal TransAtlantic runs from November to May.....US can easily dedicate a few of those 767's to Hawaiian routes. They are used mainly on Carribbean and Florida flying after they come off of the seasonal Transatlantic flying. And if they have already be proven on those runs....it makes sense to me! Once the TransAtlantic flying resumes next Spring, I'm sure US will have had a deal made with Airbus for additional widebodies till the A350's are delivered. And besides all of the US F/A's have already been EOW qualified on the 767.
