That whole lawsuit thing is about the most ludicrous thing I've read in years. In a republican system, like ALPA (and the USA), members are elected because, supposedly, their views represent the majority of their constituents on a majority of the issues. Here's the rub. They don't have to represent everybody; nor do they have to represent anybody. They are allowed to use their own judgement in these matters, just like senators and congressmen DON'T poll their constituents on all (or even a majority) of issues they vote on. The recourse for wayward representation is a recall, which has already been tried an failed, or to not reelect the member to another term. That's it. PLUS, the RC4, as USA320 calls them, are representing what the majority of the pilots of ALL bases said in a poll taken by ALPA before this fiasco started. Therefore, it's the OTHER members that should be sued for NOT representing their pilots in the proper manner, if such a suit were feasable, which it's not! USA320 is absolutely wrong again, and clearly doesn't even understand how republican democracies work. He may get a real lesson this week!
If anything, USA320 could be sued for threatening legal action to influence the representatives on this issue, which is ILLEGAL!
