I just heard that f/a's write folks up for serving a whole can of soda. How silly is that?

You heard wrong. This is the stupidest thing I've seen posted on here in a long time and a waste of bandwidth. Stop spreading lies and tell your "friend" to get a life.

There are very few writey ups out west. There are a couple and their names are well known. I believe that we all live in glass houses and should NOT throw stones because guess what, NO ONE does everything by the book ALL the time and karma will always come back and haunt you!

That is a crazy silly rumor! There are a few newbies that insist on pouring for example when its a SJD turn. That is scheduled to be 2 beverage service. They learn pretty quick that you can barely get thru throwin' a can at these people and get past the immigrations form without losing your mind. Why do people have the hardest time filling those things out?

I understand this one to be about a non-rev AWA f/a writing up an east crew for serving cans of soda out of PHX to the east coast. And as far as I know, when a customer asks for a whole can..you give it to them. Hey, it's a 4 1/2 to 5 hour flight.

I can't imagine being so irritated over a can of soda that I'd write up a fellow crew member over it.

It sounds as if there is a nest of vipers in the desert.

And please don't get me wrong. I know the majority of f/a's in the west are great. Yet, there always seems to be a someone who wants to piss in someone's cheerios. Be it east or west.

If you are that irritated...take it to the Ethics Committee. Or your union rep.

Hmmmm...I find that REALLY interesting seeing as how our service standards in the west call for "canning" on the long haul flights (i.e. PHX-PHL etc). I have to agree with N903AW, this appears to be a waste of bandwidth. 🙄

West flight attendents are the worst people in our airline. I'm not sorry when I say that either. When I was a gate agent, I would be in a great mood, and come down with a big smile on my face and VERY VERY politely ask if they are ready to board, and then I get poo'ed on. "UM WE HAVEN'T BEEN CLEANED YET, NO CATERERS, THE CAPTAIN ISN'T HERE, SO WE AREN'T BOARDING UNTIL YOU FIND OUT WHEN HE GETS HERE!" Then they sit down at -30 and read a people magazine and gossip. Yeahhhh.... That's poor customer service. Then I have to board the plane in hyper speed to get it out in time.

This one time the door didn't latch all the way when I opened it, and one rudely goes EXCUSE ME, as I was trying to run up the jetway to open the door for passengers who were about to miss their connecting flights. Then she comes up the jetway and starts giving me an earfull in front of all of the passengers. As soon as I put her in her place, the people in the boarding area were like "good for you for standing up to her, she was just looking for a fight!" Being the honest and professional man I am, I explained that it was partially my fault because I didn't open the door all the way, but that was no excuse for her behavior and apologized to them and cracked a tasteful joke. between us, the door was like 99.9% open though.

VERY rude people, but don't get me wrong some are very very nice. My roomate for example!! 🙂

Also - if people are getting written up for taking a pop, I better be careful the next time I take 13 of those chicken salads off the plane hahahaha!!

Did you just turn yourself in?

It's not only on the West. On the East we have our bitter Betty's too. I checked into a hotel the other week and this one girl was just having a hissy. The poor girl at the desk was trying her best. Yes, we had a long day but the girl checking us in can only move so fast. I finally stopped and said " Do you ever stop and listen to yourself? Just stop and listen to what you just said. You sound like some looney passenger complaining about his bags not being loaded during a thunderstorm." Well, needless to say I was not popular with her anymore but enough was enough. Some things you complain about, others just SHUT UP. My rule is, will it matter in 5 years? Is this going to be something that I will regret not speaking up about?
On a side note the only complaint I have about the West Flight Attendants is they look you up and down in PHL or PHX walking through the terminal and roll their eyes. I always smile and nod my head but they either ignore us or act disgusted. Can't wait for integration day  Be sure to wear your Stan Herman Star Fleet sweater set that day! The almanac says cold as ice.

It's funny how people who work in customer service sometimes treat others in the industry(of customer service).

The ones who don't tip well or make an embarrassment of themselves make things worse for the rest of us.

You wonder what they are thinking.

Good for you for speaking up.

Look at that FA on the CLT crew news getting all bent out of shape about announcements that were made on a AWA a/c, there's part of your 1%.
