Sooooo they are waiting for the shipment from the manufacturer or whatever yet they have the new glassware already? Hmmmm isn't that very interesting. I'm sure the excuse is on it's way that they want the customer to see USAirways when the glass is in front of them. Though not the most important thing to worry about it should have been taken care of but hasn't. Excuses, excuses.... Hey, it's not like were putting good wine in that plastic cup to cheapen it any further. It's not good wine AT ALL.
makes no sense... good one tempe!!!
Those poor people at DL in for a rude awakening...it's too bad it is not NW because morale and service there couldn't get much worse than it already is so it wouldn't be much of a shock for Tempe to step in.
except for the random G/A with an attitude (and every airline has those).

LOL.. A particular SEA east agent comes to mind, when I was based in CLT and would fly home from SEA, that agent was probably the rudest person I've ever met, so nasty to customers, employees, other agents... now when I work (HP) flights in and outta there... I don't see that person, hoping they decided to let em' go bye-bye...
From a business standpoint let's give Management the benefit of the doubt (as difficult as that may seem). Placing glassware on the fleet entails a little more planning than most people would probably comprehend....does it take 6 months, Doubtful. What is probably going on here is a gradual rollout of the USAirways name in the AWA Marketplace.....as aircraft get painted and the AWA name fades into the history books, I believe the emphasis is to INCREASE the presence of the US logo and identity. (Afterall, USAirways never was a BIG player in the PHX area and the remnants of the PSA route system have been forgotten). Also, US has many more flights to Europe than they did when glassware was readily avail on all flights, and with breakage and logistic issues to deal with I am sure it is a Big ordeal and someone obviously didn't think this out before they gave a DATE of Implementation....."the old Easy on Paper but not practical in Reality". Meanwhile, Waiting........i've always wondered that... my east friend keeps telling me there telling him just waiting on the shipment... how the hell do we out west have all new china and logo glases, but the shipment somehow fell short of CLT,PHL,PIT????? makes no sense... good one tempe!!!
Or maybe...........they're waiting to see if the Delta deal goes through. Why order and pay for all the US Airways glassware, etc. when the name MAY change?? Cost savings. :unsure:From a business standpoint let's give Management the benefit of the doubt (as difficult as that may seem).
