"Why does EVERYTHING favor East?"

DesertFA66, when your done with the pipe pass it around. We will all have what your smokin'. Piney and I made PERFECT sense when YOUR post on the other hand made NONE and held NO WATER. Try again sweets. Work in the office maybe? 🙄

I'm VERY real! I'll reserve comment on current management for a moment.

Let's address traffic "From the West". This traffic would mostly be on HP metal which means for accounting purposes it would flow to HP's P&L statement. Load factors are no higher than the other Legacy's so there is no proof that people are flocking to US in droves. US has always generated a revenue premium on the East coast. With the carrier out of BK customer confidence returned and the planes began to fill up. Also the hugh majority of Business travelers and Frequent Flyers are from the East and generate a 43% revenue premium. Another point that's interesting to note is the Operating profit generated by the East is roughly equal to the dollar value of the concessions made.

Now for the current management, Exhibit A on their performance is the "Enhanced" web site, which really says it all. BUT we could easily add in the recent payroll SNAFU into the mix. I could go on but to what end.
Let address your one comment the one that says "with the carrier out of bk customer confidence returned". The truth be told and keeping it real US had no plan to emerge from bk they were done. The management team from AWA save there sorry souls. and to keep it really real the only real reason why US is still alive and kickin is because the AWA MGT didnt want US to liquadate they would have been in a biddin war with Southwest for the assest which AWA would have clearly lose hands down(ATA aquitation).

You lost me on this one .... the new livery is a GIGANTIC step forward for all of US Airways. Now scrapping Merlin for Scepter ... there's a big boner!
Yes I Guess Your Right Why Not Spend Million's on Merlyn,When We Own Septre & It Doe's not Cost to Use Septre. Question You Must Work FOR MERLYN,am I right?
Good Try. M 🙂

YES because the "Old US" generated the profit in 2007. HP as a standalone LOST money in '06. You could look it up.

Therefore WHY are we sharing the profit sharing with the west? Did they take a paycut? Thank you Mike

We can thank our genius union leadership for that.
I asked our local president and he said it is the right thing to do. Yeah right. What $$$$ did the West give up? Have they ever even heard of profit sharing much less negotiated it?

It's suppose to shut up the west f/a's when the wagon train arrives in PHX from the east coast. 😱 😛

Yes We Had PROFIT Shareing,Would You Like To SEE the Check Stub's. You ALL ACT Like Your The Only People That Were Ever Challenged,& Taken advantage of By CEO's,We Did Take A %10 Pay Cutt in 1990,Yes We Have Proof of that TOO Would You Like Some ProoF?
Sorry Your Not The ONLY CAB ON THE ROAD IN THE MAJOR AIRLINE INDUSTRY.You ACT LIKE A SELFISH LITTLE BRAT. SORRY,,🙂.
We Have NEVER BEEN IN THE TOP PAY SCALE IN THE INDUSTRY LIKE US AIRWAYS EITHER.

Just because you own it and it's paid for doesn't necassarily make it the better choice. For instance:

What is the total cost of ownership? IT Labor to keep the systems up and running? Is Merlin easier and less time consuming for the users to operate? If so then how many minutes extra per day does it take to complete transactions times how many users using Septre? What are their budgeted hourly rates?

Let's just say that Merlin "saves" each tech 1 minute per day at a budgeted hourly rate of $60.00/hr or for simple math $1.00 a minute. $1/min time x 3,000 techs x 365 days = a "soft Dollar" cost of $1,075,000 per year.

These are many factors that need to be considered when establishing the true cost. But coming from the culture where the company knows the price of everything and the value of nothing your views aren't surprising and I don't mean that in a negative or bad way towards you personally.

Hea PinHeadBob, When you work for USAIT and know what you’re talking about, come back and try again... B)
