Remember Bethune was old Piedmont that just used what Mr.Davis showed him what to do make the employees happen and the customers will come back happy.
Parker had a meeting with Bethune when US was trying to buy Delta . <_<

Gordon Bethune promised the employees of Continental that he would not go to work for any organization that competes with Continental, so unless you see a CO/US merger in the future you will not see Mr. Bethune.

Also from some of his interviews during his final year Gordon made it clear that the industry is so infuriating that he was looking forward to not being involved with the day to day.

Gordon is the Yoda that the other airlines executives and boards go to for indutry wisdom. I imagine he is pretty happy with that role and that is where he will remain.

Robert Isom was brought over here from NW for more reasons than just the operation. I think he is being groomed for DP's replacement. If you noticed, there are quite a few people who have followed him here from NW since his arrival. My only question is: why is the BOD taking so long?

You may be right. And I hope you are for the company's sake. But I still think he needs to go. There have been too many mistakes.
