In the view of some power mongers, the people/mass cattle are not able to change no matter what information is presented to them, therefore, let them rot, let them be controlled, let them finance a bailout.

I have not thourougly looked into USA's credit ratios v. other airlines...I'm sure someone else has that information.

US Airways received a higher rate of complaints from passengers in August than did any of the nearly 20 airlines tracked by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the agency said Thursday. The carrier received 120 passenger complaints, or 2.45 for every 100,000 boarded that month, which ranked US Airways last among the 19 carriers tracked and contrasted with an average score of 1.22. The airline ranked last in the July report as well, with a 2.16 ratio. But US Airways did better than the year earlier, when it posted a 4.42 ratio for August 2007, also last place.

I'm still not certain if they are going to be succesful in doing this...probably under the original timeline (timeline=my own understanding of events), but now things that I was told would not happen until 2010 are happening now, so I'm not sure if the people in the company can really make it happen without falling into their own nuerosis. So when the plan of chasing after low-yield customers and providing no value for the others fails, it will be the employee's fault?

Nothing is ever Tempe’s fault. Just ask them.
 
You guys need to get off of the loyalty crap. Employers EVERYWHERE no longer care about your loyalty, they only want your services, and care about your ability to get the job done. You are expendable, plain and simple.

US Air is not your family, nobody cares about you, nobody cares that the structure of the company is weak. Nobody cares about your contractual issues, you are still doing the companies work.

Think of this job, and future jobs not as a career, but only a temp job. It's the sad nature of the beast in today's workforce.

This payout is 100 dollars well deserved by the employees, and I will take it and be happy that I haven't been laid off or fired yet.
 
I don't know Toothy maybe it's spending the last 25 years in sales and sales training but your argument doesn't ring true with me.

You sound like a lot of failing Sales Reps I've met over the year who proceed to tell me "The account has a lot of potential we can't push them" when I questioned their forcasts. Another favorite was "Well it's true I didn't exceed quota but I did better then last month"

The above is an examplel of fancy words for you haven't sold anything and you didn't exceed quota AGAIN!

transfer this to the DOT stats and you can throw figures and logic at me HOWEVER last place is just that LAST PLACE just like second place is really first loser.

It's like when they open the bids and out of ten your bid was third lowest which means that 7 others had higher prices. But did you get the business?

I have never experienced the above until now. I agree with the above poster. Truly, this is the current state of affairs.

What I am is amazed that with all that is happening in the financial sectors GLOBALLY, that many on this board are STILL unable to grasp the bigger picture. Even the mannequins at FOX get it.

Do I support this management? Yes, but only because I believe the current model works in this economic environment as well as what will take place in early 2009, when the credit markets fall...along with the stock market, if it holds even that long.

I would NOT support management if they were moving towards implementation of service policies that harked back to the days of old. Those days are long, long, gone and I really hope you wake up and start acting upon this information in your work life and your home life.

toothy , it's down right SCARY how dense some of my co workers are ...... alot of the guys here in PHX understand what's going on , but it seems to be the east coast people who aren't getting it .... i mean it's all over the bloody news day in and day out , you pick up ANY copy of a bussiness publication and it's splashed all across the headliness .... but nope , alot of these folk are ----> :blink:

Moving forward , us airways ONLY hope for long term survial in my mind is full nationalization .... but we're kinda half way there ,what with the us flags on our planes , our level of community invlovment and the contracts we just signed to move the troops ...(also we move alot of mail as cargo )

well perhaps you could tell that to O-man ... i'd LOVE to hear from him that yes INDEED the sky IS falling , as i have foretold from at least last year ...


it shall pass , but not without much pain and suffering on all of us , and i for one don't intend to be suffering through this ..
