Think what you like Little-E. I support the motives of the labor movement, I just think you picked the wrong battle this time and you've gotten yourself in a position that you either lose face from and accept the hit, or lose everything.

They will lose everything. Northwest is now having job fairs at all the major A&P schools. They are bringing in a whole new generation of mechanics. They will keep us here long enough to train them and then begin to weed us out. It looks as if I am going to be here for a while. This should prove to be interesting. Maybe they can save the AMT logo. Just think an airline maintenance team that is 100% A&P Certified. The FAA can't be so harsh anymore either because they sanctioned these guys. Is Northwest just too ingenious or what?

Hiring right out of A&P school primarily for the line? Now that will be interesting, and you will be training them? The man who does not read the AMM and thinks servicing IDG's is idiot proof?

I have no problem with airlines hiring directly out of schools but they should go through some type of internship...and you my friend are not one I would want doing the training. Sounds like NW will issue each a pen and send them to the line, and when there is a plume of smoke on the horizon they will address the problem :down:

Actually as much as I disagree with NWA and their hiring of unskilled scabs, I actually pray each day they make it through without a fatality. As for bringing down organized labor, well that is a scab's job. Unfortunately most are just to stupid to realize they are actually going to hurt their own standard of living in the long run.
