ALPA Thread 1/10 to 1/17 ALL ALPA/USAPA Discussed Here

The anti-ALPA emotions are bubbling over here at USAviation.com- a clear sign to the rest of us the end is probably approaching for the East's little detour from Truth Street has about run its course. Heck, we even have retired guys now weighing in on the "injustices" they have suffered at the hands of an imaginary clandestine force headquartered in Herndon, VA. So who dun it? Who made LOA93? Pension extinction. Mid Atlantic farm team. Hmmm. The rest of us know more about the truth, more about the AAA skeletons burried out back. C90 spilled the beans and now that little piece to their own history which the die-hard easties conveniently buried in a shallow grave in the back of their aging gray matter is polluting their version of history. Yes, it is quite clear AAA gave LOA93 to AAA. AAA exterminated the pensions and agreed to send the MDA pilots to a regional job (but at least the senior US Air guys could still live the high-life of flying the "big jets" and pretending to be professional pilots at toilet wages). All of these "injustices" were agreed to by the AAA MEC. But heck, skeletons don't talk and why let facts ruin good fiction!

Speaking of "good fiction"? = "QUOTE (prechilill @ Dec 15 2007, 08:07 AM)
Ho Ho Ho! Saint Nic is comin' to town! "

I'll let the "Ho Ho Ho! Saint Nic is comin' to town!" speak for itself as the truest indicatior of just what an utterly BS windfall you wonderfull people are seeking. The repost's for the benefit of any not fully clear on the actual nature of your selfish little Alpo BS campaign of wholesale disinformation and fear mongering attempts. Let's indeed stay wary of any "little detour from Truth Street" 😉 You'll never receive any argument from me that the Alpoids on the US MEC are worthless...but that's but the tip of the iceberg wherein all of Alpo's atually concerned.

Don't let the door hit your Alpoid arse too hard on the way out

PS: "Truth Street"??? I don't believe Alpo could find that place with all known nav and gps equipment....vectors to short final, and/or even if led by hand to the location 😉

Might want to modify that Avatar. It looks like St Nic. didn't deliver, maybe next Christmas.

prechilill,

Unfortunately this is true.

But since the AAA MEC is comprised of National wanna-bes (Bill "Someday, I'll have a national job like Donn and Chris" Pollock) and weak minds (Lance "The airline will liquidate next week if you don't pass the September 6th proposal" Svendsen), the pilots of AAA have been raped repeatedly. They have now awakened, and will likely vote to stop the battering husband.

Should the AAA pilots have even gotten to this point? The election of the RC4 in PIT and PHL was a warning shot to ALPA. They ignored it. The remainder of that discussion is for another day and another round of beer.

Review the past, make a decision on the future - VOTE USAPA.

You might want to check out our new bid that is out big mouth. More Captain seats that you westoffs dont get. 125 new hires.

Big deal. Just wait until Doug puts the next few A321 deliveries in the Wests hands. You know they're his team and he has to keep them happy too.

Let's see a West guy upgrades and gets $141/hr and an Eastie upgrades (again) and gets $96/hr.

"You know they're his team and he has to keep them happy too" No doubt...which is why we all now fly under the Cactus callsign I assume?

PS: Where you got the $96 is a mystery...321's pay more than that 😉

$96/hr is what 42 new Captains will earn flying the E190 when the latest bid closes. The other 44 Captain vacancies on other fleet types will most likely not be new Captain's at all but just a realignment of the current Captain's to different bases.

Understood. The "321" bit was merely chain pulling on my part. In truth..I don't wish ill on the west, nor would it bother me to see them gain some added new flying out there.

"1) The opposition towards ALPA from the East pilots seems to be almost exclusively specific to the way the AAA MEC operates." Umm...you're actually joking..right?

Well perhaps I didn't state that exactly as I meant. Excluding Merger Policy, the arguments against ALPA are specific to the way the AAA MEC conducts business.

"a. FPL abuse. Doesn’t happen much here at AWA." I'm sure. I've no doubts that the recent establishment of Alpo in your turf's best representative of the "One True Alpo"

Huh?

"3) USAPA really doesn’t have a prayer" Understood...sigh..let's all just go home now.

Looks like more and more of your pilots are being convinced of that. It wasn't difficult to turn in a card, but the thought of USAPA actually winning doesn't seem to be reassuring folks over there from what I hear. Sure, there's the "everybody I talk to" rhetoric, but common - how many people actually admit to voting for LOA 93?

"Instead, they’ll just make all of the AWA pilots junior and then screw us some more. So basically, it’ll be OK to screw junior people so long as they are not the junior people being screwed." Nope. Everyone knows that any person of true and proper moral values would naturally think it best to "screw" people legitimately senior, (via actual flying years), for their selfish personal benefit..wouldn't they? 😉

I love the fact that "moral" keeps appearing in arguments. How "moral" is it to agree to a dispute process and then reneg on it?

How "moral" is it for Colello, hired in 1988, to be recalled to anywhere other than the BOTTOM of the active list? Isn't that how recalls from furlough work? Before the merger, was Colello going to be recalled from furlough and immediately have 1200 active pilots junior to him? I think not.

"a. USAPA has all of it’s eggs in one basket with Seeham; it’s entire existence relies upon the word of ONE attorney. Let’s take a brief look at this guy:

i. First, I heard that the AWAPA (the union trying to replace ALPA at AWA a few years ago) used Seeham. The deal they cut with Seeham was that he would work for free, and then recoup his billable hours if and when AWAPA succeeded. "

I see it clearly then = This guy was fine, and considered as fully competent counsel when deemed usefull for the west/AWAPA, and one assumes had the full blessings of your now MEC Alpo chairman, (with said chairman's rather flexible notions on at least union allegiances, and now, perhaps lawyers as well?), but has since become a hopeless village idiot when no longer serving west purposes...got it.

No, he wasn't fine, and that's EXACTLY why AWAPA never even had close to enough cards to go anywhere. Even the TWA guys we were hiring at the time, all of whom were itching to stick it to ALPA, never turned in a card. But hey - AWAPA got what they paid for (nothing). USAPA is having to pay for it LOL.

No, a 7 year westoff getting the left seat before a 22 year Eastie is a windfall.

Got news for you - we had 7 year captains while you had 15-year furloughees. Not our fault, and not something we should pay for according to your plan or superior morality.

True. But you will never convince the East pilots those 15 year furloughees should not upgrade before the next in succession West pilot.

That is the sole reason USAPA exists in the first place.

A lot of pilots East and West are going to find out just how expensive USAPA will be. Very soon.

Wrong.

If the West pilot was next in line before the merger he should get the upgrade. The number from each side should be proportional to pre merger projections. We could have negotiated this from the West or got it in arbitration.

A windfall is to put an East F/O who couldn't hold Captain ahead of a West Captain.

Is it the West pilot's fault we worked for a stagnant, poorly run company? Is he supposed to give us his job as compensation?
