1. Replacing Non-rev boarding by First come to seniority
2. AIrcraft Orders
3. Repainting 3 heritage aircraft because of whining over color
4. Profit sharing
5. Reinstating Airbus shooter
6. Allowing USAPA to drag it's feet without consequence
7. Inequitable furloughs / recalls
8. Allowing CLP to remain
9. Moving MOC/SOC to PIT
10. Inequitable training overpayment settlement

I have just scratched the surface, but you have never faced a CEO who really played hardball with you. The east pilots have a history of denying the realities of the present and then paying for it well into the future.

That seems to be changing with this MOU and the merger with AMR. There seems to be a new-found activism on the part of the line pilots to part with the dead-end past and join with a group who has combined unity and resolve to become a relevant force in crafting their own destiny. The US pilots could have done the same had they not sat on their hands and allowed a small minority to capitalize on apathy to extract what they wanted and leave the carcass behind.

You can be damn sure that if Parker did anything for any pilot it was not an intentional act of kindness.

This MOU is not a good deal...but it is the only deal.

We certainly agree on the first part. All the standard, personal "nyaah nyaahs" and such nonsense aside...I'm not completely convinced that "it is the only deal" is entirely true, as it's just the first attempt.

The Mike Cleary I remember from the Addington trilal was the easily intimidated little man I almost ran over going into the men's room. He's not not a very tall guy, much like Seham who he was having a bathroom break like two teenage girls.

He would not even speak with his Phoenix rep, David Braid. He only acknowledged his small entourage of East pilots who attended the trial. The same Mike Cleary I saw cowering by the elevator after his defeat in Phoenix. This is a scene I'm anxious to see repeated.

I hope the litle fella returns for another beating.

Cleary is another one of the east idiots who has no clue...when he got up at the crew news and accused Parker of furloughing as a negotiating tactic, it became obvious to me the little scab was going to f us all over....

BTW...lets get this effin scab on a stand under oath and find out what sent him and the other scab running to the 9th asking for an emergency ruling in Addington. Then after his testimony, lets do the same with Kirby.

NO possible argument to that couild be made. I think one of my favorite chuckles was provided when he was so incredibly ineptly trying to fake sincerity with his statement, (referencing a common contract), that "It's the right thing to do". That bit, were the obvious effort he made at "sincerity" not so truly sad, would have left anyone in stitches.....and how many years now has it been "the right thing to do"...yet never happened? 😉

Well...then take pity on all of us doubt-ridden "idiots" and with properly reasoned detail, fully explain how this is truly and unquestionably a "good deal" for all concerned....?....?.....? Be especially specific as to any/all supposed "protections" that are, no doubt, well defined, iron clad, and included as currently written....? Spare no needed details, because, as but an "idiot" I've long held the foolish belief that the devil does indeed reside in the details....or lack thereof....

Start anytime you believe yourself ready to allay all foolish concerns from those that have "no clue about the world around them...."..rather than continue to firmly establish yourself as such.

I have a dog that sleeps much of the day but when I pull out the dry cat food he gets all excited and will do tricks for a single piece of dry cat food (I find that I don't need to buy expensive bacon/beef/pork doggy treats because he jumps at cat food just the same).

The real instructive part is that he will do a trick for one cat food piece, but if I don't give it to him he is ready to do 20 more tricks, all because he can see the piece of dry cat food. He sees the whole bag and must think I might be generous, but I can get him to do 20 tricks and give him one piece of dry cat food, then put the bag away. He is ready to do more tricks but there is no need to pass out more cat food.

Pilots see a pay raise and start to froth at the mouth, ready to give anything to get it, thinking there must be a steady stream of good things to come. Many of them aren't as smart as my dog.

Heck, we still have pilots doing tricks because they got a block of cheese a decade ago.

Jeez if it's an instant raise maybe I'll change my vote to yes if I can get the money by Dec.......Not likely!

Yeah Bob...I'd think the "right thing to do" here would be to at least give you a Merry Christmas this last time. Somehow....not holdin' my breath for any of us though 😉

Sadly...that perfectly sums up much around here. (Note to self: Try the cat food scam. Frikkin' dogs have been ruined by far more pricey treats over the years.)

When do you plan on talking to the company again?

Your point's taken, but why should anyone become consumed with any overwhelming sense of urgency to just desperately grab onto whatever first comes around the corner, especially containing considerable concessions? It's not as if this merger is happening today, tomorrow, next week/etc.

Heck, I expect them to buy my last trip for training after I buy tickets for the family! Of course there will be the CERTIFICATE for almost 40 yrs. of service. Oh well it is what it is. My revenge is to enjoy myself anyway.
