AUG/SEPT 2012 US Pilots Labor Discussion

What a sob story Ames. I like how you predicate your entire career on the merger day. Let's forget the rest of the AWA years? You had your bankruptcy and Parker himself told the truth when he was first in line for the ATSB. Your operation was fraying by the second.
Ultimately the Nic will be thwarted in this epic war. Just like the USA on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese could say they won the war. The merge day was the western sneak attack on careers of the eastern div. It will end likewise with an epic conclusion of the Nic being nuked in court.

Speaking from total ignorance, as usual. Typical easthole.

EastUS1 would like you to believe that the NIC award is illegitimate because he feels it's unfair and on that basis jusifies weaseling out of the agreement to abide by the results.

FA would have you believe that all pilots should have been on a national seniority list so that their position is independent of changes or mergers at their airline.

The west and virtually every other party impacted by the arbitration ( no matter how tangentially) believes that the arbitrator's ruling should be implemented without delay barring any procedural error or fraud.

The power of the majority is not unlimited and if USAPA demands union dues be paid as the representative of the pilots, they must accept the responsibility to use that power within the limits necessary to serve ALL the US pilots, not just their club.

A friend of mine used to work in the court and tells me that often Judge Silver conducts oral arguments by presenting a preliminary judgement and telling the attorneys to talk her out of it. It could be over soon. Or not.

Now that's an interesting way to do it. Tell the lawyers for both sides which way you are leaning and then let them do the legal footwork for you. Then she can buy into the argument with the best legal footing.

Pretty smart lady.

The jumpseat's nothing to use like some little toy, as only "children" would, to play sick little games with.
So our much self-promoted ersatz Flying Ace

1. Doesn't acknowledge he is engaged in a civil war among his own pilot group and feels he can dictate which targets are off limits (jumpseat) and which are legitimate (RICO, etc.).

2. Feels his judgement on the fairness of the orders he's been given justify disobeying those orders (however no neutral observer has yet to agree with him)

3. Feels that his disrespect for those giving the orders further justifies ignoring them because he has disagreed with them in the past. (again with no neutral corroboration).

So what year did they Court Martial you? 😉

RECALL HUMMEL NOW............FYI, The APA has planned picketing events in the first 2 weeks of October at the following locations:

1. LGA on October 1, 2012
2.DCA on October 11.

Some American pilots have been contacted and they would appreciate our support and assistance if offered and our pilots are welcome to participate. Here is the kicker

The USAPA Officers are aware of these events and are refusing to communicate this message to US Airways pilots. Their reasoning; by supporting APA we are in fact sending a message that we are promoting Doug Parker and his management. The APA is picketing against their management. Their message is and unfair labor practices and their signs state that they need a management change at their airline. Hummel is twisting this to mean that they are supporting Doug Parker and our participation would be seen as helping Doug Parker!

Convoluted as it is, our Officers are aware but not passing this information out to the Board or our pilots. Are we a " Trade Union of Pilot's for our Profession" or are we only US Air pilots in the game for only ourselves?? That is the question to be asked and that is why we have not been notified of previous picketing events by the APA.

Supporting Parker my ass, how about supporting our distressed Brother's and Sister's in need as they attempt to fight against the oppressive use of bankrutpcy that has destroyed all our careers.

The officers will not allow any official USAPA Communications to support our Brothers and Sisters at American on the picket line. Any help or assistance that you can muster to get the word out to our pilots would be a blessing! I know the American Pilots would appreciate our assistance and show of solidarity at these events.

This needs to be made known to all.

Are you really that obtuse? American pilots are fighting AMR. Given the chance they will put YOU below EVERY American pilot. They and the company negotiated an agreement WITHOUT USAPA's knowledge or participation.

Until we sit WITH the APA pilots in negotiations, we should NOT walk with them.

On a good note, I hear the recalls in CLT are going swimmingly.

Go buy yourself a pizza and a coke, an pipe down (for once).

The recall list is still shorter than a 330 crew manifest. The western pilots are the real threat to the careers of USAirways pilots in total. Not APA.

It must get lonely that far out in left field.

Claxon does not work here pay attention.

Do you know that for sure? I think he's Mike Cleary when Mike's taking his medication, MM when he's not.

The point really is that speaking from a position of ignorance is more of an easthole attribute.

I thought Reps were not allowed to post here.

So all you weak d**ks think we should not be supporting the APA boys in a picketing event, geez even ALPO will be there. I guess Hummel will do whatever Parker tells him to. What ashame APA is standing up for our profession and you weak guys don't think we should help them. Even Crandall said "If American is to succeed in the years ahead, it must pay wages and benefits, and operate using work rules, which produce labor costs equivalent to or – while American gets itself back on track – lower than those of its major competitors. In the long run, no successful service company can offer compensation and working conditions that are materially different than those of its competitors . Why do you WD's think your not worth what the other pilots get. How do you look at yourself in the mirror. We are not in bankruptcy. We are not asking for the world just to be paid fairly.

You need an escort? Put on your uniform and head on up there if you want to. Nobody's stopping you.
