I have absolutely no problem with giving my name to someone if they ask, I just prefer not to advertise it.
Couldn't agree more!

Can anyone confirm the letter stating new uniforms are coming?
I haven't seen this letter in the US West side yet and I would like to see this letter too.
I really like the red in their uniforms especially the ties and the dresses. I spoke to a couple of our uniform committees a few months ago and they said there's definetely going to be red in our uniforms. Now that's hot!
We'll have red, white and blue colors in our uniforms. I hope the uniforms don't look cheap cause we definetely need an image we can be proud of !

While I think all these outfits are very Cute and Sassy. It seems to me like most of the where designed just for this runway show. I would venture to say that about 1% of our FA's could wear all these pieces (refering to the pics on the link). Again it's all about how our people wear whatever they are given. I hope it is of high quality, but designed for the job's we do!!! e.g. Cleaning up water from the back galley floor with paper towles, or vomit or any other fluids.Delta's doing it right...

As far as the name bar, at United we are required to wear our name bar underneath our wings. If you are good at what you do, it shouldn't be a problem. It's rather par for the course when you are in a customer contact position. Most hotel customer contact employees wear name tags. As do the grocery clerks at my neighborhood Safeway. I don't see it as an issue.
As far as flight attendants who are fat and sloppy...we have our fair share here at UA. That's the problem with not having weight check. I think it is human nature to become lazy or develop slovenly habits. It's just like being drug tested in this industry; it forced me to restrain myself from areas where I may have otherwise been tempted to explore and/or experiment (drugs). I believe that having regulations regarding weight, alcohol use, and drug use are useful to maintaining self-discipline and holding ourselves accountable to a higher standard.
On the aircraft, I sometimes witness flight attendants who are overweight, indulging in ice cream sundaes, or eating continuously throughout the flight. While I applaud the anti-discrimination policies in the United States, I think that the pendulum has swung a little too far in the wrong direction.
I think it's great that one can be in their 50's and still fly. I fly with some very seasoned ladies (and gentlemen) who also take pride in their appearance and how they represent themselves in a United Airlines uniform. I am honored to walk through the concourses of our world airports in such company. But on the otherhand, it's an embarrassment when some of the women think that wearing Dansko clogs with the house coat dress is acceptable. It doesn't lend itself to the image of a safety professional and I think that we lose credibility when we do not look the part (of a professional). It is not tolerated at the likes of Air France, Virgin, and Singapore Airlines and it should not be tolerated at the U.S. carriers.
Those of "Ample Girth" can dress stylish & professionally if the uniforms are of good quality.
😉 that is TOO funny! Awhile back when friends of mine at Northwest and I were talking about uniforms (I love that Red overcoat) they informed me that the sizing used at NWA was Small-Med-Large-Seattle. While we are polling people on the subjects of name tags and such, we should "weigh in" for the helluva it...... just the thought makes me want to lose it.just issue mansieres and girdles...that may help

Bob,
Are you that shallow?
All you talk about numerous times when you mention flight attendants is their weight.
People come in all shapes and sizes, when you fly the FAs are not their for your viewing pleasure or desires, they are their for your safety.
