I have about had it discussing the arbitration award...it will be settled in court before it is all said and done...so I thought I would bring up the subject of our pax.

I was commenting the other day on how some of the ultra-lccs(SkyBus) pax wear, not just "wife beater" shirts, but dirty "wife beater" shirts and wola', I see customers with dirty T-shirts and black plastic bags (for luggage) on our flights. And what is with people walking on the wrong side of the jamned packed concourses? And sitting in the floor? I now see very few suits in our concourses, mostly low yield once-in-a-life-time travelers. Is this what it has come to? The planes stink, our customers stink and now I stink. 😛

Comments anyone?

Well, we are ALL beginning to see that passengers fly because it's cheaper than Greyhound and Amtrak has that dress code.

I think it's a reflection of the times. I see the most god-awful attire everywhere. Used to people wouldn't dream of going out in public dressed as they are now. It's like a slob contest out there. And things are hanging out that I am not interested in seeing. Whew!!
I've got some DAP for that crack!

Fly a real airline and you won't see this. Fly any airline in America and that is all you see!

Case in point, flew BA a few months back to Europe, sat in coach, thought I was in 1st class with the way people were dressed and the way I was treated. Flew USAir a few weeks later and thought I was flying out of some Latin American airport.

Obviously you've never experienced an airplane full of folks from Manchester, UK.

Oh please, BA has its share of British trailer park trash / Euro trailer park trash customers as well. And if you venture out to an airport such as London-Stansted, well the folks there (their vocabulary, attire, make-up, behavior) make Tanya Harding and K-fed look like royalty.

I'm not too impressed with what some people wear these days, but suck it up, they're the majority of your customers since there isn't enough suits out there to pay the fares US charges for its "premium" cabin.

Do we really have a premium cabin any more. I think we've sunk to the level of NK (Spirit). They just call it the "Big Comfy Seat" because thats all that you get extra.

Sorry, I forgot we have Four Points Pie.

Come on, it's summer. But check out some footage of 50s and 60s baseball games: all the men are in suits. It is a sign of the times.

Who the heck cares what people look like. I don't like it, but it's not for me to judge, I dress and behave with class, but I don't stick my nose up at others that don't. As long as people are flying, thats all that matters.

I guess you folks out West really wouldn't see all that much difference!

I'm sure all those low class people feel right at home on our airplanes! Just like their single-wide trailers, our airplanes are narrow and small with little room to move around, broken, smelly, loud, and dirty. Their trailers must be really nasty and full of trash! I know this because I have to clean up after them after each leg.

How disgusting!

Westies weren't accustomed to people like this (mullets and wife beaters) until we started flying your East routes...

😛

Thanks for not saying the '70's! That has to be one of the worse decades in history for clothing, Leisure Suits. :groovy: :groovy: :groovy: :groovy:

honestly why would anyone with money to spend want to fly Us Airways? I am going to be brutally honest here but we have some of the oldest, most unattractive, and most unfriendly FA´s in the business. If I was a business traveller I would much rather spend my 2 grand to get served by a beautiful, young, smiling cabin crew at say Virgin Atlantic than a group of woman who have been arming emergency exits for the last 20-40 years and seem to hate passengers. I am constantly amazed by how many Fa´s i see with permanent scowls chizeled into their faces and how utterly unfriendly they are to the pax. If you hate your job that much then quit. They don´t pay you that well to begin with and the travel benefits aren´t that great.

It is pretty basic...sex sells and in the absence of a sexy product you need to offer something else to attract customers. We don´t offer any other perks and consequently we only get those who are looking for the cheapest price at all costs.
