One could say that a lot of people on the West Coast have no idea who US Airways is, either.xoxo said:Hopefully this doesnt sound mean..but..alot of people on the east coast have no idea who America West is.[post="299808"][/post]
That's the reason why the company name is staying USAirways. The call sign isn't used at all with the public, so the name recognition would probably have no bearing on which one is used.xoxo said:Hopefully this doesnt sound mean..but..alot of people on the east coast have no idea who America West is. Everyone I talk to about this(non airline) have never heard of AWA. Not even my own father. I think you have a great airline..but..the call sign should stay the same..USAIR.

The only reason I remember USAir is that I flew them for about 6 months after they bought out Pacific Southwest Airlines... until their two-bit management dropped all the wonderful PSA routes and went back east.

It's also a respectful gesture to the AWA pilots.
