CLT getting 2 new routes?

WN is advertising their PHL-SAT service now. So I guess rather than competing directly, they'll funnel the PHL pax through CLT on RJs.....

a member on another board said that CLT-SAT and CLT-AUS are loaded starting May, 4 with twice daily service with CR9s. I was unable to find them in the schedule, but I think this is correct

US Airways Group Inc. will announce more domestic routes from Charlotte/Douglas International Airport in two or three weeks.

That's according to Andrew Nocella, the Tempe, Ariz.-based carrier's senior vice president of schedule planning and alliances.

He declines to say which cities will be added. But those changes will come on the heels of a string of route additions from Charlotte/Douglas, US Airways' largest hub.

In the last few months, the carrier has grown its presence here. It recently reinstated service to Daytona Beach, Fla., and plans to start service to Biloxi/Gulfport, Miss.; Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Key West, Fla.; and Panama City, Fla., this spring.

Better than no service at all. If the service is a success maybe it will be upgraded to mainline.
I agree, not our planes not our employees more of the same express service. How many express stations and routes could support mainline now. Your view is a dream

They will be Express, so who cares.
Why not compete head on with WN from PHL to SAT/AUS? That route US has the possibility to drive back WN. Not only US can draw local, they can get the connecting and international traffic involved. For US to lose to WN on this route would have to be real bad, and if that's the case, merge with Mesa!

Yes I agree what a joke. Austin and San Antonio 2 of the faster growing cities in the US and we begin service with CRJs and with sorry mesa no less.
I sometimes wonder about our marketing department or lack there of.

Starting a thread titled "2 new routes" that are actually flown by Mesa is a slap in the face to every US Airways employee on this board. It's irrelevant and belongs on a different website. You might as well tell us NASA is going to mars.

AUS and SAT have mainline service and are worked by US people just because they are adding RJ service does not make it less important for them or to the employees that want to go there out of CLT.

While I agree with what you say, what does matter is MESA has continued to show poor performance with on time and reliablity. This should be mainline service period.

I 110% agree. It will be a great day when we discharge that waste from the system.
