CWA/Teamster labor thread -

I guess thats good since the company wants us all to be part time.

There is no defending the shameful way the CWA has represented its members in the airline division.

You are correct about that. What do think is stopping them
If you make it cost effective and realizable to hire part-time help the company will

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You..

I could not have said it any better. 🙂

Thats because the US CSA group was the first airline workers they ever represented, and I dont count the afa merger as they are still autonomous.

How many other groups has the CWA successfully organized in the airlines?

Just Piedmont Commuter and that took several attempts.

Ask your reps, why did the CWA cave against US after the merger not to force a union vote.

Nothing to do with the CWA, are you avoiding the question and issue?

Vote IAM
The issue of representation
Representations and failed attempts
Like IAM did/could with NW, PDT, UA,
IAM membership in the airlines has been decreasing
UA mechanics Piedmont mechanics NW agents and mechanics

"The Machinists are a dying union and have lost more than 30,000 (many aviation) members the past five years. We estimate that the Machinists currently represent less than 50,000 dues paying aviation workers.
Very recently, the IAM lost four Delta/Northwest elections (9,775 members) and agreed to multiple plant shutdowns at United Technologies that put another 2,600+ workers to the street—jobless.
When you see claims that IAM is the largest airline union, it’s just not true.
The resources of the IAM are dwindling and they cannot afford major contract fights with a company the size of the newly merged CAL-UAL. At the District Lodge 141 meeting that took place last summer, the Secretary-Treasurer reported that the Union did not have the resources to organize or to bargain contracts."

Maybe IAM should take a page out of the CWA/Teamsters organizing had book

Nobody should take anything out of the CWA book, they are discraceful dues grabbing whores.

700, I would love to ask my reps alot of things, problem is they don't respond to any contact. John John, I don't know what color glasses you are looking through, the CWA sucks.
