What's new

DON'T GET REAMED.......

TWU Informer , I noticed you didn't touch the mainpoint of my post.
AMFA didn't do diddly for Northwest mechanics, every single one of them were replaced.
I'm sure that is a much better outcome than what we are faced wit.

Nahh!....didn't do a thing. Absolutely nothing.
AMFA only raised the bar for mechanics in this industry by quantum leaps that's all. ALL mechs, GSE & cleaners got significant raises under the industry LEADING contract that AMFA negotiated for the Northwest M&R.
Had Steenland not been hellbent on stopping AMFA dead in there tracks with an abundance of unemployed mechanics that he lying in wait to cross AMFAs line & of course the IAM assisting in any way it could, NWA would've been forced to reckon with AMFA & the NWA mechanics.

But take heart.... you needn't worry...the TWU will NEVER strike AA. EVER. So you won't have to be put in that precarious position that the brave and honorable Northwest M&R found themselves in.
Oh, and one other thing...those guys careers aren't done. Merely a set back. Some are at Boeing up in SEA, some are at CO/UA, some are at FedEx, UPS or went to another field.... most landed on there feet eventually. And not one of them I've spoken with had ANY regrets about striking Steenland & NWA. But again....don't worry yourself. The TWU won't ever put you through such inconvenience. AA will probably employ more mechs.....you'll just be making about $25/hr......(with BS "benefits").

ABSOLUTELY/POSITIVELY !!!
Are you sure?

Wouldn't all the union brothers and sisters from our international help us in our time of need. Shut down the rail and bus lines in NYC?

We hear that TUL is going to vote YES for this "agreement" I find it hard to believe sense they voted down a pay raise and were defending the profession against guys under 50 losing retiree medical, and OH having to weekends.

They Don't take a ' job action ' , Until YOU and your fellow AMT's (and FSC's) Find the BALLS to take the (initial) Job Action !

It's so EASY to paint Jim Little as WEAK and Ineffective, which he is 95% of the time,........ B U T ....YOU guys, especially in TUL/DFW keep CAVING in to AA by voting consistantly........ ' YES ' !!. Jim Little does NOT go into your homes and put his hand over your's while the majority of you AMT's/FSC's keep marking the ballot 'Y E S' !!
Y O U (and your's) ARE the UNION. NOT Jim Little !!

You are welcomed at any time to come to TUL and teach real unionism to the masses.

We do need your help.

I have said all along we should listen to our BK lawyer, we should vote for a consensual agreement. As soon as one comes along I will vote for it. I unfortantely believed Horton when he said he was going to change the culture of AA, seems like more of the same if not worse.

Do you guys relise that USair has better contract then us right now after 2 BK.

One thing I have noticed in the section 1113c, is that there is a 1.5% pay raise every year like the "agreement" we're voting on, but in the side by side comparison it says,

"wage increase terms will not apply if court rejects contract"

side by side comparison

it's almost as if the union info is designed to scare us. If this info is wrong or over looked, what else has the TWU misinformed us about, who checks the accuracy of the info provided to us to make the best educated decision.

Actually, by just looking at this side by side comparison, it states that you will not only get the 1.5% raises for 5 years, you won't get any profit sharing, and the biggie...NO 401K MATCH.
I do recall that when they announced that the pension would be frozen, it was implied that would be the case ONLY if a consenual agreement is reached. Abrogation is non consenual.
Like I stated in another post, eveyone needs to read the FULL TEXT and make your decision based on ALL the details.

It amazes me that anyone attempting to keep a business as a going concern would allow any terms to be imposed that would effectively limit those seeking employment at that company to only the most desperate of job seekers who need to work and will leave as soon as something better appears - with these terms, that won't be hard to find..

Jay Gould once stated he could pay half the working class to kill the other half - this sounds very much like Horton's strategy and judging from what I hear at work, Gould was correct - few are honorable enough to actually stand on principal alone - I'll not get onto what I believe that to be a symptom of.

Let Centrepork have their layoff to the extent it will threaten the survival of the company they claim to be trying to save. Assuming Horton has the "working class" at AA pegged, he'll get what he wants. If he's wrong and we bricks actually have some honor amongst ourselves and a solid no vote is cast, the company goes down in flames.

Got hot dogs?

Thats NOT what the AA lawyer said in court. In Court he claimed we would get all those things if the Judge would abrogate the deal. I was there, but you wont be able to read the transcripts till two weeks after the results, kind of remeinds how we didnt hear about the SERPs till after the Vote.

Thjis deal is 1995 and 2003 all rolled into one. Once again , a year later, by 2013 nobody will admit to voting YES.

I hear ya, Bob.....It just worries me how many people will play into the worst case scenario fear factor.

Sorry Buck, but it would be hopeless in TUL, BECAUSE the 50.1 % majority there....Have NO FIGHT in thier DNA !

(but) Now back to TWU local 100. When they get to the point of having "talked enough" to the City (mayor Bloomberg), and talking further is useless, They GO-ON-STRIKE !! They don't ask anyone else for support, they Fight thier own Fight, and W I N !
What can I say ? It's a "New York Thing" ! They don't worry about thier BASS BOATS, or thier pre-fab double-wides. They Fight the Fight for the ' long run '. Thats why thier making 6 figures a year, without breaking a sweat !
In bottom line summary,.........it's called (North) East Coast ... B A L L S !
