Stop using the 'oil is high' rhetoric against a fair fleet service contract if you can't explain why the high oil prices didn't prevent the above questions I posed towards you. Until you answer the question, your opinion is 'prejudice' against fleet service and in error.
You know what ? I am sick and tired of United being treated as the breadwinner for the IAM. For christ sake, the IAM has no respect for you, your
previous members(ie furloughed) and your MONEY you've spent in dues for " How many years "? Is it so obvious, or am I just stupid and the younger
guys/gals who have never been thru this just don't get it?
District 141 will work with the entire IAM Transportation Department to preserve the contracts, pensions and union representation rights that you have fought so hard to achieve.
Monitor the District 141 website’s Merger Watch page, available at www.iam141.org/airline_mergers.htm and sign up for email notifications for the latest information as this situation develops.

I am the bartenders father. He's a good guy.
chill,
"Yeah, but customer service in PHX complained and petitioned and they got some rules changed. Now trade for trade doesn't count.
Fleet service in PHX will start burning bags if they cant trade!"
we had a me to clause on that . we are currently in the east enjoying that same benefit of trade for trade doesn't count . GOES bye bye with a YES vote.
and the sad thing is that privelage doesn't cost the company a penny but yet they don't want you to have it.
You know what, freedom? I attended protest rallies in Tempe. I screamed bloody murder at our get-togethers. We whisted while we walked down Mill Ave and really annoyed passers-by. I was out there for the 30-foot rat a few months ago. What did it get me? Thrown under the bus at the end of 2011. We were screaming for unity and solidarity but I had no idea that it only meant PHX and nowhere else. If I would have known that, I would never have bothered. If what my buddy in PHX told me is correct (we will consider it hearsay) RR was the one who was guns-a-blazin' for the outsourcing provision.
Fleet service at field station pay dues like everyone else and deserve fair representation. If what I am hearing is true (that field station rampers were tossed to the curb because they didn't perform work actions or attend rallies) then perhaps DFR was denied.
Number one, they are not lazy, it's the new generation.
Number two, The hat's on straight, it's thier head thats crooked.
Last but not least, the pants are called Capri pants for men, they are pulled up.
giantfan, i have to believe that now given the fact that DL and NW have agreed to merge, if the Fleet turns down the pos t/a, i think they will come out with a better deal. Al i got to say is look at UA fleet contract and they are getting raises; CO a non union, and SWA heavily union, are making a lot more than Fleet at US. Why is it that mechanics get 10% across the board yet fleet cant get that? "Y does Fleet only labor group to continue to have the stupid 60 day rule when it shouldnt even be there? Y does M/R have a no furlough deal with their contract and Fleet dont? I dont even trust the mgmt let alone IAM clowns to say "we are not coming to the table if this is turned down. I believe the company needs Fleet to ratify this now just so they can merge yet if this is turned down I think that will force the company and IAM to get a better agreement. Also y does all other labor groups get profit sharing and fleet doesnt??? Dont tell me they could have come up with a better T/A because we all know they can
