IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FLEET SERVICE AGENTS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote: O-Man

( For the faithful performance of their duties, each Assistant General Chairman shall receive the following monthly salary rate, effective 01-01-06:
First six (6) months' service $7,988.24
Second six (6) months' service $8,066.27
Thereafter $8,145.58
The above salaries shall be increased each January 1st by a percentage equal to the percentage increase in weighted average hourly
earnings on a union-wide basis. In addition, a per diem while away from his designated headquarters in the regular performance of his duties.[/i]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FLEET: THE ABOVE QUOTE... SHOULD MAKE YOUR BLOOD BOIL!

An Assistant General Chairman (AGC) will ultimately make $97,746.96 per year!

Take a guess where the money to compensate these individuals comes from…
The answer is you!

You… pay their salaries with your hard earned money!

Since we are being told that we should not expect anything close to Industry Standards in our compensation package, due to the current economic environment…

I call on all of Fleet to demand that all Union Officers, and Representatives also be informed that they also… should not expect Industry Standard Compensation for their positions due to the current state of the economy.

Tim Nelson…any others in the know, please find out how we… as IAM Members can have these bylaws changed to more realistically adjust these ludicrous salaries that AGC’s and other Officers enjoy.

Fleet should demand that our sacrifices regarding the current industry turmoil…be also sacrifices that IAM officials participate in… at least until times are better, and…

“We can fight another day!â€

Hello I joined today but I have been reading for a while. I am not happy with the TA. I had to join and comment on this one posting. I believe with the amounts of money we pay in dues we could have been represented better in this TA. I understand the whole industry in turmoil arguement but I just feel we could have got a lot more. People have been arguing we dont have any leverage but the thing is were not in bankruptcy anymore and the company is profitable. Our leverage is us shutting down US. I think these comments by Roabilly are the best on this site. If Randy Canale and the rest of the incumbents do not believe in fair representation for the members, as they have shown, then their pay should be reduced to represent what fleet is making. It seems to me that the people negotiating the TA only care about protecting their pay and not ours. The IAM representitives in 141 and the Grand Lodge are way over paid for the representation they provide. I linked below a list of compensation for Grand Lodge and District Lodge Officers and employees. I am not sure if these have been posted on here before. These amounts are outrageous and I could not agree more with Roabilly that this needs to be addressed by Buffenbarger, Canale and the membership. The bylaws need to be changed. There is no accountability for these officers. So why should they make these amounts? Again I am not sure how many members at US are aware of this. The information is from 2006 and can be found at Unionfacts.org

2006 District Lodge 141 Officers Compensation

2006 Grand Lodge Officers Compensation

All this money spent from union dues with little to no real representation. I agree with Roabilly compensation for officers needs to be changed. Some one post how we change the bylaws for this. And to get back to the subject matter. I am voting No. I am tired of the company BS me and the IAM not stepping up. Let's fight this out and get a contract we deserve. East and West together.

Thanks informer...

Let's hope those who can help us... will !
(700...Farce..?)

And...welcome to the thread!

Doing it on my knees
I bet it looks like Michael Jacksons thriller video HAHAHHA!

Looks like the MJ video the problem is the arthritis keeps them from moving as well as the walking dead in the video.

Hey GF
You want to have that debate today? You pick the subject.

I want everyone to click on the above link, and then scroll down to the "Maids" that are compensated by the IAM Grand Lodge...

Guess what... IAM Maids make comparable salaries to what you were just offered in this T/A ! *($35,021.00 annually)

(* From 2006) More than likely, more now !

Here's a couple of questions:

1. What's a "confidential secretary?"

2. Why is there a bartender on the payroll?!

3. Are all these guys union?

Seriously the salaries for representatives are completely out of touch with the union members they represent. No wonder they dont give a crap to fight for us. They have what they want. I would hope some one addresses how to change the bylaws for this. Maids in the IAM make more then I will this year. Vote No and start holding these officers accountable. Make them earn that 100k - 275k. But what concerns me just as much as their pay is the seperate compensation they get. Some of those people spent more on seperate compensation then I made last year. Does anyone else find these figures disgusting? If I am paying these people this much with my dues then I should be receiving that much representation. Are the District Lodge Bylaws on their website? I am looking and cant find them. If someone has a link please show me. Less then IAM MAIDS! Ridiculous! But Roabilly I know I am new and all but I hope I get a little credit from you for 'informing' you and the rest of FS about this.

Excelent job! ... just keep informin' !

So how were you misquoted?

Let's start from the beginning... Just to clarify, did you or did you not personally hear Boss Canale say to the effect that if this TA was rejected, then he threatened to roll West into the existing East contract? A simple yes or no would suffice.

I heard Canale state that if no agreement was reached in the March sessions, he would present the Companies last offer to the Membership to a vote. He also stated that if that vote failed then ho would roll West into the East contract.

If the answer is "yes", then I didn't misquote you, and if the answer is "no" then you lied or embellished what Boss Canale said. Personally, I think you did hear Boss Canale make the threat, but you object to me using your story against your friend, Tim. I have an exceptional memory, and if you are going to posts in an open forum, then be prepared to defend those posts later if I find them to be contradictory or I might even use them should your posts be supportative of my own arguments. If you cannot handle that, then you may want to find another forum.

My statement of you misquoting me was regarding to the hack job you did on my quote. You removed a quote between two statements of mine that combined to distinctly different quotes into one. THAT is my objection.

Now onto the important topic that I'll ask again... if you are so concerned about those 18 stations, then why are you willling to play brinkmanship with their jobs?

Actually, I'm defending the jobs of 19 stations that currently have protection.

P.S. By the way, will you be supportive of allowing all LAS ramp agents to vote on this TA at convenient time instead of the nonsense of the last vote where the voting was stopped at 8 pm, even though 130 part-time people start their normal shift at 9 pm? That was a clever way to get the full-time people an opportunity to vote while minimizing the vote of the part-time people.

And yes, I would be supportive. Unfortunatly the IAM cares not one wit what I think. I was a graveyarder for years, and it's pissed me off to no end how those who work later start times get screwed over. Part or full time does not matter.

I want you to vote the way that you want to vote, now with that said, wouldn't you like both side of an issue before deciding. You want more info or you wouldn't be on this web site. That's why I'm here.

So far no one has convinced me that this T/A is worth my vote.

I have been foolish and voted for a contract without all the facts. I've learned from those mistakes. One thing I've learned is that sometimes Tim comes across as self-serving, obnoxious person, but something I've learned over the years the issue is not Tim it is the contract and so far Tim has been right about everything that will happen.

Know the past and predict the future.
Well, I'm still waiting for the thousands of dollars that Tim mentioned, once we win the arbitration.
Oh thats right, we didn't win.

That union payscale is way out of control!!!! The maids were making more than me on the ramp? WTF!!

Magic...

We gotta do sumthin' 'bout this!

I call on all members...viewers...posters...

What are we gonna do ?

kmsurvey--

If you been around that long than I would think you would have better arguments for your cause than naming games. That last post was your 7th and I haven't read a rational argument coming from you yet. You just keep talking about how ignorant we all must be b/c we see the sense in voting this T/A in....you just want to play poker with all of us who you seem to think are so ignorant.

If you want a healthy debate than debate.

I was probably chalking planes while you were poppin' pimples. And I happen to be very good at solitaire, thank you!

Yeah that is healthy debate. Look young wipersnapper.......I am sorry if I hurt your feelings but I never said anyone was ignorant. I was trying to make a point but apparently you are to sensitive. An analogy was made as to this contract negotiations being like a poker game. You show your hand and you have no leverage. I'm not going to debate you because you young wipersnappers are too sharp for old geezers like me. I'll leave the healthy debate up to you sharp cookies. I have to go now because the arthritis is killing my fingers and I can't type anymore. Please don't be mad at me.
