informer...

Excelent job! ... just keep informin' !

We listinin' !

Thank you Roabilly. I have a lot of information for you people out there and I think it's time I started to share and educated with everyone with the facts about why we are being mislead and misrepresented. Here is a recent snipet from the IAM's top hypocrite Transportation Head Roach.
--------------------------------------------------------
Machinists Urge Airlines to Focus on Business
April 10, 2008 - International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) General Vice President Robert Roach, Jr. today issued the following statement on current airline industry maintenance and customer service concerns:

“The recent grounding of aircraft and stranding tens of thousands of passengers due to maintenance compliance issues are just symptoms of a much larger industry problem.

Airlines are increasingly outsourcing critical aspects of their maintenance programs, replacing customer service representatives with computers and failing to provide passengers with the service they pay for."
-------------------------------------------------------
All from a guy who made over 223k in 2006. Thats great Robert. Now doing something about it. What about the service we pay for as union members? These AGC's need to do some work and GET US A REAL TA! Too bad we cant replace the GL and DL reps with computers. With the recent TA I am believing more and more it's about dues not representation.

Here is more the IAM's Roach rhetoric without accomplishing anything.

That Roach guy made an appearance on the phx ramp around jan. He was playing "im on your side card" what a bunch of BS. Had the ramp known his payscale I feel he would have needed security escort to leave that place.

Guess we're in the Cross Roads in this decision.

After talking to a US employee in Phoenix as a furlough and accepting AWA wages for the last 3 years, HE accepts the contract and likes the wages and overtime. We discussed senority by date of hire and he is good with that as long as he gets 4$ an hour more.

He also said this contract would protect outsourcing till 2011. (The current bankruptcy contract has nothing built in).

But he warned that the 2 flights a day or 14 a week could be instantly replaced from MAIN line TO express lines.

So! Don't believe this vote would protect the outsourcing of the 12 or 15 stations if the company replaced mainline aircraft with expresses and then are outsourced. Aircraft makes a major difference.

And! What the heck is the complete explanation of CIC. Sounds like plenty of the OLD fellas realize this is the last hold onto the company"flat lining" workers.

JUST WHAT IS CIC (or COC). It sounds outdated but reverent. Can it mean the only means of employees to express themselves during negotiations. Any takers on this?

We are the union, never forget that. This out of control spending is our doing! We have allowed it to happen by allowing fools to advance to the top. We need to get proactive instead of reactive. Go to meetings, yell scream make them kick you out. So many of our brothers have been silenced for speaking their minds. This union is ours yet the people that once told us that they cared only for us have drank the kool-aid and become corrupt, such as Jeff Rusk and many others. We fight a battle on two fronts very hard to win, we must fight the company and yet we must fight the very people that told us they wanted to help us! Greed! Greed is the heart of corruption, and by God these are some greedy bast*&^ that we have place in their positions. When they come to your station ask them for an honest answer, how much are they going to make by serving this crap to you. We can do so much better. The west has suffered long enough under the thumb of oppression, it’s time we make a stand against this greedy company and the corrupt IAM! Vote NO!! and keep voting No until our words are heard. Our blood our sweat is what keeps this company a float yet they care so little about us. They have thrown us the crumbs after they eat the cake. We are US Airways, not them! Without us they are nothing! We are the IAM, without us they are nothing!

informer…

Keep in mind that these compensation packages for IAM officers and employees…such as “Maidsâ€￾, and “Bartendersâ€￾… represent what is wrong with capitalism run amuck in this Country!

Everyone from Corporate CEO’s … To the Union Leaders are literally dancing, and wallowing in “ourâ€￾ cash while “weâ€￾ …the worker get the shaft… and pay the band!

You…Me… and others on here can take steps to begin a campaign to end this travesty!

Question is… do we have tha “nadsâ€￾?

Amen to that Rock Bottom... I agree 100%

Rock Bottom! For the entire time airlines have been around! Fleet have been the results of their success.

I have to agree with you, but have been trying since AWA TWU, and now! over five years later to convince airlines like this MESS (us airways, to acknowledge Fleet and Mechanics over pilots and inflight).

NOW! We have to ask if the language of the LAST BANKRUPTCY IAM for FLEET acknowledges the CIC!

And! WILL this give employees(eventually) with a new NMB under Democrats! the HANDLE to control IAM VS the US AIRWAYS and the control into the mergers to come. IS the CIC the bottom line for employees.

CAN anyone answer this?

The CIC was poorly written, it has too many holes in it and should be rewritten. It was written by a 6th grader going against lawyers. America West took over a bankrupt US airways, yet the wording in the CIC allowed Dougie to say there was no change of control becuase our stock symbol stayed the same.

Face it brothers and sisters , for too long many of you have sat drinking your coffee hunched over your laptops checking the us airways message board rather than doing anything concrete to make your anger FELT , and brothers and sisters , installing a new NC won’t provide new results if the membership is weak …that’s akin to having a sick race horse that runs like molasses and then blaming the jockey and installing a new jockey to get the sick slow horse to run faster …

We’re really STRONG when it comes to blaming our own union leaders and installing new ones , we show up in droves for the voting , but where are those same droves when it’s time to protest eh ? Where does the solidarity go when it’s time to face the company ? (probably sleeping in or watching TV I bet )

You know what, freedom? I attended protest rallies in Tempe. I screamed bloody murder at our get-togethers. We whisted while we walked down Mill Ave and really annoyed passers-by. I was out there for the 30-foot rat a few months ago. What did it get me? Thrown under the bus at the end of 2011. We were screaming for unity and solidarity but I had no idea that it only meant PHX and nowhere else. If I would have known that, I would never have bothered. If what my buddy in PHX told me is correct (we will consider it hearsay) RR was the one who was guns-a-blazin' for the outsourcing provision.

Fleet service at field station pay dues like everyone else and deserve fair representation. If what I am hearing is true (that field station rampers were tossed to the curb because they didn't perform work actions or attend rallies) then perhaps DFR was denied.

Lith…

Change Of Control (COC)… was originally intended to be protection for us in terms of compensation, (I.E. Wages) in the event the carrier you work for (LCC) is purchased, or merged with another Air Carrier

Unfortunately, the IAM failed to upgrade this language to reflect the current Airline Business Paradigm, which ultimately led to the circumvention of the language by
Richard I. Bloch, in January of 2008.

This language (COC) could easily be re-written to cover virtually any scenario regarding Merger and Acquisitions, and incorporated into our latest agreement. This modified language would give us more than adequate protection for future consolidation, such as the much rumored United Airlines Merger.

However… as you will see in the recent Tentative Agreement… instead of being
re-written to protect us…it is being given away for… No… COC… LANGUAGE!

Now...do you think you are getting the representation you pay for ?

Here's a couple of questions:

1. What's a "confidential secretary?"

2. Why is there a bartender on the payroll?!

3. Are all these guys union?
The confidential secretary is the IP's Secretary and the bartender is the bartender at Placid Harbor and as are the maids and they are all part of the IAM Reps Association, so yes they are union.

Hot off the IAM 141 Scare you into voting for Canale Scareline.

Northwest and Delta Announce Merger Plans

To All IAM Members Employed at United Airlines:

Printable Version

To the surprise of no one, Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines today announced plans to merge. It is possible that some combination of United, Continental, and/or American Airlines may be prompted by today’s announcement. These airline mergers represent a threat to your wages, benefits and union representation itself.

United’s IAM-represented Ramp, Stores, Public Contact, Fleet Technical Instructor, Maintenance Instructors, Security Guards and Dining Service employees are the airline’s only employees to survive bankruptcy with better than industry-average wages and secure defined benefit pension plans. While other unions made promises to their members, only the Machinists Union produced positive results.

A merger could possibly lead to a loss of union representation entirely. This occurred when American Airlines bought Trans World Airlines (TWA). TWA’s IAM-represented Customer Service and Reservation employees were combined with their non-union counterparts at American, losing all union protection. Additionally, TWA’s IAM and ALPA membership lost hard-earned seniority when they merged under the seniority integration policies of American’s various unions.

There is a lot at risk, but the IAM is prepared. We will oppose any merger that negatively impacts our members, passengers or the cities these airlines serve.

District 141 will work with the entire IAM Transportation Department to preserve the contracts, pensions and union representation rights that you have fought so hard to achieve.

Monitor the District 141 website’s Merger Watch page, available at www.iam141.org/airline_mergers.htm and sign up for email notifications for the latest information as this situation develops.

Fraternally,

S.R. (Randy) Canale
President & Directing General Chairman
