Flight Attendants Dining and Cabin Issues

Sadly that's the way a great many managers and front liners feel

I'm a front liner and I don't feel that way! I take care of the passengers as much as I can because without them there is no US Airways which means I don't have a job! Why would I want to run them off? They make US fly! hahaha :lol: It is sad that many do see them as "pesky"! :down:
 
Three(eastside) but mechanic and related and fleet have gotten a new single CBA so they have gotten some things back, unlike the other groups.
 
It's frankly understandable. How many wage cuts have you folks endured? I lost count to be honest. Management peppers you with outright lies about customers. What's a person supposed to think.

People being fired for doing a favor. I get why it happens when I get a grump. I just don't care for it!
The East flight attendants endured many pay cuts, but not from the America West team! In fact they are getting back some concessions and raises until 2011.
How many times can it be clear, the West side is way underpaid, and hasn't had a raise since 1999?? You say mgmt lies to the customer?? So, why do I come to work wearing the same Uniform, work same routes, take care of customers, and supposely I work for US Airways, but and I am payed less as a flight attendant on the East???!!! Hmmmmm?
Let me answer my own question, because I still work for America West Airlines. Thank you. 🙄 😀

If you make/made less than your East counterparts, I'd submit that your issues are with the AFA and the former America West Management. They certainly aren't with me or any other customer that's for sure.

BTW, studies have shown that hourly pay has little to do with employee satisfaction and your whine here proves that. East F/A's axording to you make more yet as a group are far more dissatified. WHY? Because of the way they are treated and truth be told if you see an employee complaining about somebody making more money you can bet that there are morale problems in that company.

I've stated it time and again that you cannot have customer satisfaction without employee satisfaction.
You are right. Thx. Sux. But I know the pilots feel the same way, just backward! :lol: :down:

I read in the WSJ today that SW might actually lose money for the first time in 37 years
we can't change the past and we can't expect a huge raise in a recession that might actually become a depression
we can keep blaming everyone else for our issues - we can blame management, we can blame the pilot group, we can blame fleet service, etc.

it doesn't change things

contray to some - not all successful companies treat their employees well - granted they might not do as well as the ones that do - even at SW the pilots prevented an acquisition

there are many HBC about the treatment of employees and managing A/B/C players. In our environment we really can't manage A/B/C players. We all have experiences working with someone that really does not pull their weight, or is difficult, etc. however, they are safe in their jobs

I have to say the majority of my passengers are happy with the service we provide and I am very happy to provide it

a little positive attitude goes along way. it takes alot of energy to be miserable

While I do understand you guys are paid less at certain years of service (we actually top out about the same), I would like what my counterparts at AWA have with regards to vacation and deadhead pay. In otherwords, we all have to fight to get a new contract.

I agree with you. Everyone keeps pounding Mgmt. etc. etc., but we still continue to get paychecks twice a month. Try going out and getting a job where you have someone breathing down your back all day for $8.00 an hour. People need to start being grateful for what they have. An ex-f/a who is my friend went to law school quit US, lives in CLE and is about to lose her house....no job! Why is everyone so miserable? I know several SW employees who do nothing but complain about their company. Where else in this country can you go to a company and work 40 hours a month and continue to receive full time benefits? Get real people!

OK everyone, are you ready for this??

The West Flight Attendants just received a message on Maestro that the airline has not ordered PLASTIC CUPS and that they are completely out of them at Phoenix Catering. :down:

They then advise us not to contact management or catering regarding this screwup and that we are to serve our customers their beverages in our small STYROFOAM CUPS!!!! This includes customers in FIRST CLASS!!

Now how would you feel as one of the few loyal customers of US Airways remaining at this airline to be served your Chardonnay or Merlot in a styrofoam coffee cup?? Of course, management won't be anywhere to be found. We cannot even call them for crying out loud! Who gets to take the heat and have to apologize to every customer onboard? The Flight Attendants, of course!

Way to go, US Airways! The one thing we do consistently on over 99.9 percent of our flights is serve beverages and you cannot even bother to make sure that we are stocked up with plastic cups?? :shock:

It's bad enough that they pulled the glassware from First Class....but now we are going to be serving Wine and Spirits in First Class in flimsy styros!!

No telling how long this shortage is going to last, but it may be weeks. Funny how this airline will hold all of the front line employees accountable for EVERYTHING, but when a STUPID mistake is made like this by management they simply pass the buck and make us cover up for their shortcomings!

This is beyond PATHETIC!!!!
 
I find it hard to believe that a warehouse somewhere does not have a suitable replacement to cover the time until US receives a new shipment. Yes it might cost more, but honestly making us look like idiots costs far more.
