I have no more of a compulsion to post than you or dawg or anyone else does.

I enjoy talking about issues that matter in the industry and help to provide the "edge" to keep the conversations going...

if you remember (yes I know it has been a while), I pulled away from this board and conversations on the DL forum practically ended.

the DL forum is alive and well.

you can absolutely bet there are people who don't want to see this become a one airline board - the same ones who have resisted combining the AA and US forums even though the same thing happened for other airlines.


I'm glad you and dawg and meto and other DL employees are here. baba has been a little quiet of late as have been some of the other less frequent DL employees.

there is a community here whether you necessarily like those who are part of it or their personalities. we all are in the same boat.

Oh, I do. I'm sure those that have A.Net accounts know where you were as well.

It never began. The DL board used to go months without activity. It was always that way. Same with CO & AS. NW & UA were usually a distant 3rd.

No I can't. The DL/NW & UA/CO combinations happened right around SCS time. You should email the Admin team here to get 'em to merge the US & AA boards. I have.


Meanwhile, relevant to this topic, support continues to flow for Kip from both his colleagues and other labor organizations.
 
I would like to say that I don't know Kip or all of the story but I'm not pleased to hear what has been reported.

as with a whole lot of things, esp. employee related, there is another story and DL simply is not going to discuss it in the press.

I haven't been on a.net for years. there were periods when activity on the DL forum on this site ground to a halt. Not anymore. You may find it arrogance but a lot of people seem to find it reason to keep the DL forum as busy if not more so than the AA forum.


oh, and in case you missed it, there are still people that accuse DL posters on a.net and arrogance and the same things that supposedly people found as justification for getting rid of me.

apparently the truth is still there. and here.

This forum may be alive but certainly not well.
When every single thread turns into childish rants between a handful of members,
who totally veer off topic and becomes personal attacks on each other.  How can that 
be viewed as well?  
 I'm disgusted with myself as to why I still view this board.
expecting perhaps that it could change?
 
Unfortunately, a lot of people have quit coming to this board (and website) because of the actions of a few.

If you want it to change, surely you have some ideas on what you want to see. I'd like to hear them.

As for labor discussions, it's the same pattern you see on other social media sites, just with less people. A couple ardently pro-labor people, a couple anti, and the inevitable conflict ensues. Like it or not, IMO, our workplace is just as fractious.
 
for starters, I am tired of hearing the supposed "righteous" ones selectively castigating me for what I post but allowing other posts that are just as flagrant if not a whole lot worse go without a single word.

I have repeatedly said and will repeat that I will cooperate to produce a constructive environment for discussion but I will not unilaterally disarm.

and that tension exists in all parts of life in the world. It is what it is.

those who don't want to face that reality can make friends with a good book or their remote control.

I could care less who posts how much or what their supposed popularity score is.

If anything, some people aren't capable of grasping that focusing on such things are PRECISELY the incentive to force the issue.

focus on the issues and when you have said what you want to say, walk away and don't worry what others say.

the juvenile behavior belongs to those who can't grasp basic concepts of human behavior which are notably absent on this forum.
 
speaking of staffing and growth, pilot sources say DL hired 966 pilots in 2014 which is one of the most DL has ever hired in one year, if ever. DL is also supposedly trying to accelerate deliveries of 737s and 717s before summer of 2015.

Baba could probably tell us what the growth in the FA ranks have been this year but the 3-5% growth that DL has recorded all year long is exactly what airline employees like to see both in movement and in keeping DL's CASM down as the airline becomes larger and more efficient.

a lot of people seem to miss the fact that a big reason why the LCCs have kept their costs dwon as well as they have is because they have grown at fairly rapid rates. DL is doing the same thing now - recording growth rates that are at or above any other large carriers in the US.

One way to make this forum better would be to not have this specific thread continue to be a DL omnibus thread.

More content...keeping topics on point... win-win.
 
uh... this topic does involve FAs and there is significant growth coming to FAs which involves their perception of what the company has to offer them.
