Didn't you once post that the AFL-CIO and IAM wanted revenue passengers talking to F/As about the importance of representation during their travels?

Josh  yes I actually do admit that while the UAL contract should have never been brought up for a vote  got to remember what the situation was at UA at the time   secondly I do believe the vast majority of the votes at UA for the yes votes were most likely from the CAL folks much more so but T5 can elaborate more on that  but that is what I have heard all along.   Now as far as for DL  I believe they ought to be unionized    I look at a few examples including that PS in which most employees got less than 4%  Just ask Glenn or Kev or Dawg.        Then look at DL pilots and their contract and look at how much PS they got    I also believe the IAM leaders also should have either rejected the contract before bringing it out to the membership or they should have educated the folks and recommended a NO Vote   but on the other hand UAL should never have come up with that type deal but that is exactly the type of clowns the IAM and other unions deal with at most companies   Sadly at DL  most them are AT Will folks  much like Walmart

Robbed the UA members were told to accept the deal by posters on this forum (jetjob & SocPlat13) and also on Facebook who said the agreement had great job protection which was not the case.  T5 has posted that people at EWR particularly are remorseful about the agreement.  What I don't get is why 700 defends the UA agreement in a single breath yet is still harping on Freedom for his single vote in the 08 fleet agreement. Why did the negotiators ever allow that to leave the room with such weak language?  He keeps saying Freedom gloated and celebrated when stations closed but I never found a single post to that effect from him.

I don't believe 700 really defends the contract as much as he says  but he is correct in that the leadership brought it back  for a vote and that the membership voted for it    and they did so knowingly that large number of stations would be contracted out  folks would lose their jobs   vast majority of them that voted yes was bec of the lump sum      Freedom was told the same thing by me 700 and number of other folks on here and around that the same thing would happen in 08    guess what  he even admitted he tossed his brothers n sisters out the door without coats just for the money    Whether or not he learned I don't know.   On the other hand people at UA had a choice and they could have   they should have voted it down with a resounding NO vote  but the money was all they were after    Quite understandably bec they just gone on from CH 11 and a post merger  but in the end as far as Im concerned had I been either one of the leadership or agent I would have recommended NO to that deal.   That's why I always say folks HAVE GOT TO READ the details bec the DEVIL is in the details.

Btw aren't IAM nominations coming up in a few weeks on Saturday 1/25/15?  Why does the IAM hold these on Shabbos?  Do they make appropriate accommodations for people unwilling or unable to place nominations on that day?  Rather insensitive on the part of the union.

Flamebait and answer the questions.
How so? To an observant person it's a big deal and limits their ability to participate in the democratic process. Elections aren't held on Saturdays. Colleges don't hold final exams on Saturdays. Government agencies don't require people to vote or transact on Saturday why should the IAM particularly if joining the union under the RLA is compulsory (or becoming a dues objector and paying an agency fee germane the CBA)

All DL employees get the same benefits package. I don't know what tiered rx plan that was referenced to .

not according to what the NY Times posted  and Kev can validate that claim regarding PS     Im not sure how many times 700 has posted that newspaper article  but I do recall he did repost it recently  and you still don't buy it.   Sorry but as for PS give it to me guaranteed every 2 weeks  not once a year.

meto  does DL use BCBS based on the region?   For Example at the new AA  for 2015 most folks in large parts of the system have BCBS and other areas have a different UHC? I believe

My apologies for taking it off topic

Robbed,

I think you are talking about how there are three different wage scales for DL ACS, four if you include the Ready Reserve, some of the people who arent RR get 3% raises while others get 4%.

And at most all other companies outside the union/collective bargaining mindset people even in the same role and position receive different wages commensurate to their performance, merit and contributions.  What a concept.
