I was told by a Manager yesterday how during the first campaign by the CWA to organize the AA Agents he was given a class on what to tell agents against voting for the union. He told me that the class was conducted by people that he had never met. He was then given a schedule when he was supposed to go upstairs (He works on the ramp) and talk to those agents and ask them questions gauging if they might be union supporters. He then was supposed to give them the anti union instructions he was taught.

For this last round he was given no instructions and was told that the Company was going to remain neutral.

I shook his hand and thanked him for his honesty in telling me this.

@WeAAsles: all business as usual at the Widget...
I'm sorry to hear that Kev. I guess sometimes if you really want something bad enough you have to fight for it.

Did you see this one?

Samuel McCalm, a Brooklyn-based wheelchair attendant, said that Alstate began pressuring workers to join a different union after they started organizing to become members of Local 32BJ.

When McCalm refused, he said, he was demoted from a lead baggage handler to a wheelchair attendant — a punishment he says resulted in a pay drop from $10.30 an hour to $7.50 an hour

"I've been through so much with Alstate I could write a book," fumed McCalm, who added that his pay has since risen to $9 an hour. "They have been violating our rights in so many different ways."

How do they expect people in NYC to live off $10/hr?

Yet another reason why standalone AA and the out going management team were much better. Horton, Virasb Vahidi, Jim Moses, etc are much better than these clowns.

I totally agree. Much better to have a management team that prefers to lead through fear and intimidation tactics rather than a management team that may be open and willing to respect and value their employees choice.

Even though every investor was saying that AA's standalone plan was a catastrophe waiting to happen and wasn't supportive of it over a merger with US. You are correct. We should have kept and supported that stellar team.

I know VV and other members of management from the old/real AA. Trust me the people at HDQ that have stayed don't like it one bit with the new regime. I think the standalone plan would have been great, AA successfully lowered labor costs and would be able to grow and reenter markets they couldn't compete effectively in. Coupled with the new fleet and large RJs (relaxed scope clause) the standalone plan was compelling. Instead AA is giving away much of the cost savings they obtained through bankruptcy and are merging with the bottom feeder of the industry.

It's a shame the new management allowed CWA-IBT to take over without a fight. But then again they're not exactly afraid of the union nor do they respect the union and collective bargaining g process either.

Although this is not the venue for this conversation. You may be a bank teller but I would absolutely have to think that there are much more well educated people then yourself out there that were against the standalone plan and they were unanimous in that thought.

As far as how the people at HDQ feel, glad to hear it. They were long overdue for a little shaking up.

Don't work as a bank teller, I work in private wealth management and manage my family business. The merger is an absolute joke and the new regime is destroying all the good things about AA and it's becoming USAIR with lipstick. How do you like the new rebanking at MIA?

Josh

don't forget WeAAsles  he is also the most anti USAIRWAYS and ANTI UNION alongside his side kick DL Cheerleader    US has been thru a lot and all he wished for was the demise of US      Personally WeAA  I was and still am against the merger but there aint a dam thing we cld do since it was n is out of our hands  n control..

Darn. With your credentials the old regime should have brought you in as an expert to backup their claim that the standalone plan would have been a more proffered option for all creditors. Schucks what a screwup on their part.

I'm enjoying all of the changes so far thank you.

Robbed in all honesty had the merger not occured and AA had been able to lower their costs and remain standalone, Josh would have had his wish in my guess no more than 5 years? USAIRWAYS would not have survived or they would have had to lower their costs down to what is currently being paid to commuter airlines.

How do you think you really got that TA.
