Kev is there any kind of estimate as to when there might be an announcement
As you can tell by the 9 people who show up at the local Applebee's!Kev3188 said:By any reasonable measure, It's going quite well...
The difference is APFA is a member driven union that holds leadership accountable and represents one class/craft of workers at one company unlike the IAM who wants dues from FAs, ramp, manufacturing, aerospace, etc.AdAstraPerAspera said:I was going to say, I bet this major victory for APFA and the AA flight attendants might give IAM just the ammunition they need to win over the last few holdouts!
Ha ha ha ha. I'm on that FB Group page and oh boy Mr Anti Union guy. You're in a world of trouble.southwind said:As you can tell by the 9 people who show up at the local Applebee's!
After this and the victory by the CWA it's game over. Those cards are going to be coming in in Santa size Mail bags.AdAstraPerAspera said:I was going to say, I bet this major victory for APFA and the AA flight attendants might give IAM just the ammunition they need to win over the last few holdouts!
which means DL is still largely non-union.@WeAAsles: all business as usual at the Widget...
biz as usual... iow still non-unionDoes anyone have any inside info on how well the IAM drive is going for the DL FAs?
Same as last 5 years rightBy any reasonable measure, It's going quite well...
Between that & UA's early out program blowing the doors off DL's, I think you'll see some positive movement.WeAAsles said:American Airlines and US Airways flight attendants' union has tentatively agreed to a new joint contract with the Fort Worth-based airline.
"The contract is by far the leading the industry with the network carriers. I think it finally brings us to where we need to be," Glading said in an interview.

I wish they would. It's just so stale, ya know? Try something original already!WeAAsles said:I bet the Delta executives just threw their anti union handbook up in the air in pure disgust? :angry2:

No shortage of new and renewals both coming in as it is. These things can only help.WeAAsles said:After this and the victory by the CWA it's game over. Those cards are going to be coming in in Santa size Mail bags.
Let's all wait and see the fine print before anyone celebrates too early folks. I have heard this crap before, and once all the facts are out and gone thru with a fine tooth comb, we see all the holes in it. Spell out what the new agreement is in full...WeAAsles said:"The ads are true: the new American has arrived," said APFA President Laura Glading. "Our team was tenacious, they were well-prepared, and in the end they brought home an outstanding agreement. They proved to the company, in black and white, the value flight attendants bring to the new American. I couldn't be more proud of their work. And to the company's credit, they really stepped up in a way that puts the entire industry on notice."
