Cause I am not a union sympathizer. Unlike most people on this board I don't feel the need to push one side or the other. I am made to look like a union sympathizer because WT is great at posting complete and total BS. One one needs to correct that. 
 
All I want to see is facts. People like Baba and Kev can do what they want to with them. But to say JUST the unions or JUST the company have pucked over employees is wrong. Both sides have sucked in the past. 
 
 
Having said that, I don't want a union at TechOps because I believe that, today, a union wouldn't make much better nor have the same goals in mind that I do. I would love to see the company grow into something comparable to LHT or AF/KL engineering. I am not sure any union could offer that except something in-house.
 
5 years from now when half the engine shop is gone I might change my opinion.   

I will never understand why people think I am pro-union. No I don't suck company d**k. Change needs to happen at Delta, IMHO, but that doesn't mean a union is the right course of action. Matter of fact if we could just get guys like Southwind to be able to admit that Delta doesn't do everything great it would be a big step forward for TechOps. IMO.

Never said DL never did any wrong but, just like you and WT, I'm here to represent ying to 700's yang!

Just like the below, blame the IAM over the AMFA strike......they weren't the big problem (they, AFA and ALPA should have much better than they did, don't get me wrong) 
 
AMFA strike helped keep your job. If they would have agreed to those cuts Tony would have done the same thing at Delta. American and United would have gone down the same road too.

The IAM is a scab union. I understand that. AFL-CIO unions love to piss on the little guys who are making a difference like the AMFA. 
but the bigger problem is the plan your boys like Richard and West laid to force the AMFA into the strike. 
 
Don't worry though....they will protect you. (ahem minus those CF6 and PW4000 replacement engines. Airframe overhauls. etc. etc)

and all of those were formerly union hubs.

if the unions actually delivered what they promised, DL would be in trouble.

it is precisely because the unions have done such a poor job of making good on their promises while DL actually has done better than what it promised that the majority of DL people aren't going to trade what they have.

like the IAM adding 30 or station mainline ramp stations to Delta because of the merger......

all that is telling is the double standard the union elite have that they should be able to post whatever they want by as many people as they want but if two people post contrary to the union view, they are obviously the same person who is nothing but a company plant.

no, a whole lot of DL people do care about what happens to the company and they aren't going to allow unions to make sales jobs without checking the real information that goes on.

the only thing you got right is that there will be more and more vocal people and they will ALL be people who have an interest in DL's future.

notably, you chose NOT to be a part of DL and to follow a union down the road to a disastrous walkout that cost the jobs of some of the industry's highest paid 5000 ground workers.


 
 
no one is doubting that NW brought stations to the merger. But by your own argument, DL could have closed them years ago - but they haven't.

AA and UA EVEN WITH their supposed great union protections have cut stations while DL is not.

talk and paper means nothing.

A track record means everything. Even someone here said that today.

DL's track record of job protection is far stronger than the IAM or TWU's.

Delta had 17 ramp stations pre-merger. 
NW had 40. How in the f#@k do you come up with that kind of crap knowing those numbers.

you argue that AMFA's decision to strike and NW's willingness to accept the resignations of 5000 mechanics saved jobs at DL and yet you refuse to acknowledge that NW saved hundreds of millions of dollars in concessions that allowed it to reduce cuts from other labor groups at NW.

we all get that NW had more stations when they merged with DL.

The argument that can't be supported by logic is that DL people have no scope and yet DL has RETAINED those stations.

If DL was as wicked and ruthless as many here want to paint them, they would have cut those jobs and cities.

what happened under Ron Allen is far less indicative of what will happen in 2015 and beyond than what has happened under Richard Anderson.

once again, AA and UA have had no problem cutting jobs despite the fact they had unions


the track record for DL also includes what happened since the merger - and DL's track record is far better since the merger than AA/US and UA over the same period... .and DL people's pay has been higher as well.

you can't argue that DL has no scope and then refuse to admit that DL SINCE THE MERGER has a better track record than AA/US and UA - and better total compensation as well.

BS      We have a far far better scope now than ever before and Im talking about PMUS Sect 6 contract     Learn to grasp that.     DL can and has outsourced various parts of the ramp so the notion that you allege that dl track record is inaccurate.   Make up area is part of the ramp but not according to DL    therefore scope at DL for the ramp is almost nonexistent    Even Kev pointed out to me in a post on here that crap is still happening   you seriously need professional help
