I haven't seen the ad or any of them, Meto, but I will say that I am glad that DL is featuring its below wing personnel in its ads...
on that note, the latest DOT consumer report came out recently and it shows that DL's operational performance continues to be well above average for the industry. DL's OT was only beat by Hawaiian - which has a whole lot better weather to work with. and better than other carriers like AS which are known for their solid operations.
in fact at SEA< DL had a better OT performance than AS.
DL's OT performance in NYC is better than any other carrier with large operations there.
those figures as well as the very low rate of cancellations - already one of the lowest in the industry - are the efforts of ALL DL employees.
WN has PAGES and PAGES of chronically late flights in that DOT report.
However, DL's baggage handling is done almost exclusively by below wing personnel (above wing have a part)
DL's baggage handling was the best of any large carriers. Virgin and Frontier had higher scores but DL's rate was almost half of AA's rate (both AA and US baggage handling got worse over the last year while DL's improved fairly dramatically and UA's improved slightly) WN's baggage handling got slightly better whiel FL's (one of the worst last year) got better but not as good as WN's.
DL's below wing CSAs do a great job and they deserve more than a few ads on CNN to highlight what they do.

it's also worth noting that DL is the only US airline that serves all 29 of the US' required 29 airports that are required for OT reporting and DL also serves more reportable airports (basically any flight that touches the largest 29 airports in the US including nearly all major cities) with mainline aircraft (137 airports) than any other airline with mainline aircraft. AA/US serve 94 airports in the US, UA 74, and WN 86.
The size of DL's mainline domestic network is incredible and growing.
