Southwind, I agree with you, it should be AMFA. I have heard of a very small and quiet group trying to get something going again at Delta for the mechanics. Not saying there is a current drive there. Just saying it has been discussed and is felt needed before another merger happens.southwind said:As far as I'm concerned , there is only one union that mechanics, everywhere, should be looking at, AMFA.
.This, in no way, means I support any union drive at TechOps
Go take a look at the US/AA forum, at the discord amongst the mechanics, concerning their current union situation and how they've been thrown under the bus!
There you go with your declarative statements, again.southwind said:If and that's a big "IF" there is ever a union push, at TechOps, I gaurantee it won't be for the IAM or UAW!
Glenn Quagmire said:Only 17 years. That explains a lot. Ask some of guys who were there when Western merged. Ask them how Delta appeased the Teamsters and western employees. Ask them how they paid the non A&P mechanics from Western top of scale wages and left the non union delta mechanics on the regressive wage scale.
AMFA for me. Gotta get more work in-house at WN and get in with AA and/or UA (and then bring in work there) for me to ever thing about getting a drive started though.robbedagain said:Southwind if any union were to get dl tech ops who wld u rather have since u wldnt want iam?
word. Not enough money in the world for me to vote IAM/TWU/IBT.southwind said:As far as I'm concerned , there is only one union that mechanics, everywhere, should be looking at, AMFA.

eh wont happen unless they can get away from just WN. Get in at AA and/or UA and make a big push it is very possible.swamt said:Southwind, I agree with you, it should be AMFA. I know a few, but its not many.WorldTraveler said:and if those Western or Delta employees were unhappy, they have had 27 years and 6 months to have filed for a union.
A large chunk, but not all, of the employees who came to DL from Western or who were at DL at the time of the merger have retired.
I would be an objector to a union right now. Not because of dues......that has to be one of the stupidest reason why one shouldn't vote for a union.737823 said:South if they ever go after Tech Ops I hope you become a dues objector. Working to educate three of my MIA agent friends on the dangers of the CWA been speaking with the local president and secretary they are clueless USAIR employees (President retired from SRQ in 2005) they know noting about working for AA or at MIA.
Josh
I won't go that far but anything other than AMFA would shock me.southwind said:If and that's a big "IF" there is ever a union push, at TechOps, I gaurantee it won't be for the IAM or UAW!
