Southwind if any union were to get dl tech ops who wld u rather have since u wldnt want iam?

As far as I'm concerned , there is only one union that mechanics, everywhere, should be looking at, AMFA.
.This, in no way, means I support any union drive at TechOps

Go take a look at the US/AA forum, at the discord amongst the mechanics, concerning their current union situation and how they've been thrown under the bus!

And of course the IAM has lost mechanic group after mechanic group TWA, NWA, United, Eastern right now USAIR is all they have left. They seem content keeping the mechanics at the bottom of the industry even after AAG made $1.9 billion in the first half of 2014.

Southwind, I agree with you, it should be AMFA. I have heard of a very small and quiet group trying to get something going again at Delta for the mechanics. Not saying there is a current drive there. Just saying it has been discussed and is felt needed before another merger happens.

If and that's a big "IF" there is ever a union push, at TechOps, I gaurantee it won't be for the IAM or UAW!
There you go with your declarative statements, again.

I happen to agree with you, but still...

There has been one union push at TechOps, in my 17 years here and it was back in about '98/'99 and it was for AMFA.
Don't hear much union talk, but if I do, the only one mentioned is AMFA...............so you tell me!

I've heard absolutely nothing about any possible union organizing.

Only 17 years. That explains a lot. Ask some of guys who were there when Western merged. Ask them how Delta appeased the Teamsters and western employees. Ask them how they paid the non A&P mechanics from Western top of scale wages and left the non union delta mechanics on the regressive wage scale.

and if those Western or Delta employees were unhappy, they have had 27 years and 6 months to have filed for a union.

A large chunk, but not all, of the employees who came to DL from Western or who were at DL at the time of the merger have retired.

you do realize DL mgmt. at the time was your daddy, or the forerunner for him?

were you even alive at the time of the Western merger?

It was April 1, 1987.

what's pathetic is your continual refrain of something about which you know nothing.

I was a DL employee at the time of the WA merger and know exactly what took place. If you existed, you were certainly not aware of anything in the airline industry.

U do know my dad was a ramper in MIA at the time whats more pathetic is ur delusional bs that u throw around and when ur shown to be wrong u change tunes like a fussy baby

So your one one of those guys who believes the employees with the company who's being bought out, should be stapled to the bottom.............all fine and good, unless your one of those employees.
In my 17 years, I've met about 4 people from Western, So we'll call this a non-issue!

AMFA for me. Gotta get more work in-house at WN and get in with AA and/or UA (and then bring in work there) for me to ever thing about getting a drive started though.

eh wont happen unless they can get away from just WN. Get in at AA and/or UA and make a big push it is very possible.

but no one wants to see TechOps not be able to compete in the MRO world. AMFA is going to have to prove they will work with management too.

I know a few, but its not many.

I would be curious to know how many guys out west are exWA though.

South if they ever go after Tech Ops I hope you become a dues objector. Working to educate three of my MIA agent friends on the dangers of the CWA been speaking with the local president and secretary they are clueless USAIR employees (President retired from SRQ in 2005) they know noting about working for AA or at MIA.

Josh
I would be an objector to a union right now. Not because of dues......that has to be one of the stupidest reason why one shouldn't vote for a union.

I won't go that far but anything other than AMFA would shock me.

Only way a union vote happens is if the AMFA gets in at UA and AA and makes a big push. Maybe if Delta were to go power by the hour for the CF6 and PW4000 replacement the engine shop would make a push but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You do realize UA went amfa after they were IAM and they voted amfa out for the ibt.
