So your one one of those guys who believes the employees with the company who's being bought out, should be stapled to the bottom.............all fine and good, unless your one of those employees.
In my 17 years, I've met about 4 people from Western, So we'll call this a non-issue!
Where did you come up with that from my post?

The opposite happened at a Delta when they brought over the WAL employees from LAX. The non A&P mechanics from WAL were given a paid move and placed high on the wage scale.

Western had just hired a large group of unlicensed sheet metal mechanics at LAX. All those guys were put above the Delta employees who had more seniority. Delta at the time had a poor wage progression. So you had licensed Delta guys with one to two years, working the same aircraft doing the same work, making several dollars an hour less than the new hire unlicensed Western guys. I knew a guy who was part of this Delta group.

You do realize UA went amfa after they were IAM and they voted amfa out for the ibt.
As long as it wasn't the IAM, they voted in!

Seriously doubt, you would see that happen today.

Really?

What would stop them? Where in your "direct relationship" does it prevent them from pandering to unions?

After all, that is what has driven your wages.

What would you do if a merger took place and you were slotted below someone with less time and they were given a higher salary?

Would that relationship allow you to march into the boss' office and demand recourse?

Yeah I know how it went down. Like I said, AMFA will have my support if they get in at UA and/or AA and do something. United is much more of a project.

and I don't care about WN pay. I'll make the trade to get down to 15 or so % work is outsourced. (which would a be 30-35% decrease)

It is happening, DL mechanics make one wage while DGS and contractors at TOC make less.
Its been happening.....for a while. DGS isn't the only one that has contractors at Delta.

And the TWU has OSMs who do mechanics work for a fraction of the pay so what's your point?

Josh
Delta has the same thing as an OSM, its called an ASM.

Top I always enjoy your posts especially when you school them. Guess south wind doesn't know what goes on in the real hangar since he is in his own little shop.

and yet when it comes down to a vote, they both get one and only one.

Given that Tech Ops has been one of the least active areas of the company regarding unionization, there are more people who think like southwind than dawg, as much as it hurts you to hear it.

You still haven't picked up on the read/comprehending thing eh?

I would be an objector to a union right now. Not because of dues......that has to be one of the stupidest reason why one shouldn't vote for a union.

But keep on doing your thing. reading is lame anyways.  🙄  🙄  🙄

As If December 1,2014 Delta is outsourcing cargo at MEM and SLC to DGS. Will post more details later.

Well even with that cut DL will have 43 ramp and 15 cargo stations more than any US carrier.

AA TWU is the five hubs only.

And Rich Delaney IAM 141 gave away cargo through an LOA in summer 2012.

And what protections does the DL employees at those stations have?

Even with scope in the IAM UAL agreement Rich Delaney gave away the jobs so what difference does it make?

What scope does the IAM have at USAIR for cargo (hint you won't find it because it doesn't exist).

Without scope DL has more in house cargo than any US legacy carrier, that is an indisputable fact.

Besides the MEM operation has been dwindling and those were PM-NW jobs not DL, with such a small operation it may be uneconomical to have cargo. SLC is unfortunate but DL is growing and can place those people on the ramp.
