I know and I think it is you. There are maybe 20,000 active f/a's and the chatter just isn't out there .Facebook is great and I own stock in it but a true barometer it is not.

HEY WT  HOW many times has DL folks gotten to vote for a union  in the 10 yrs since you left???????????????????   Times have changed   The pressure is mounting    DL MGMT is helping as Kev noted   GET OVER THE FACT THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW THE FEELINGS TODAY COMPARED TO YOUR TIME AS AN ACTIVE EMPLOYEE THEN
Well if the vote turns out like all the others in the past, we'll be back here in a couple of years rehashing all of this...........again!

bingo.

just as what happens on here isn't representative of anything at anywhere. the sample size is simply too small.

The best barometer of what happens with DL employees regarding unionization is the votes that have taken place and whether any have been scheduled.

Unions have regained some strength in the airline industry with new representations wins at several carriers but not one group at DL has won or even scheduled a vote at DL.

the whole process is very public and the notion that anyone is "in" or "out" by not knowing what happens in that arena or that there is some deeper level that is more reflective is horse rubbish.

Kev,
DL isn't even in negotiations for C2015 with the pilots at this point. there have been surveys about what is wanted.

I've joined a FB Group page that is Delta FA's and have been reading their postings going back a few weeks. These people are extremely PRO Union and are voicing their strong support for being organized.
And there are A LOT of them on this page.
Someone on this thread DOES NOT have the pulse of what Delta employees want.
Just shows how insignificant and unrepresentative of actual DL employees that group is. You are AA MIA TWU fleet service and have nothing to do with DL employees. I think 700 is also a member of that group too. So not only do you get in on AMT matters you also butt in on F/As.

And you are an alleged passenger, yet you butt in on FA, Ramp, CSA  and Mechanics thread.

Hypocrite.

Wow the little anti union crowd really hit the ground running on here after my post???? Fear?

I'm not commenting in the group page. Don't need to. They're doing just fine.

Here's a post on their from 7 hours ago.

I just went over to the "New Way" site to see what it was all about. I joined and my membership is pending. We’ll see after I post this if I will be accepted. Below is the mission statement for the “New Way” site with some comments of my own in CAPS.
“New Way (MORE CATCHY THEN NOWAY) was born to be a helpful site for our new hire flight attendants. It's a user friendly, positive site. Questions are always welcome!!!” (UNLESS THEY ARE QUESTIONS ABOUT REPRESENTATION, REGARDLESS IF YOUR PRO, CON OR UNDECIDED, THOSE TYPES OF QUESTIONS ARE JUST NOT GOING TO BE ALLOWED, BECAUSE, WELL, FRANKLY WE CAN'T AGREE WITH ANYTHING THAT IS PRO REPRESENTATION EVEN IF WE AGREE WITH IT! ) “New Way is managed by 6 terrific new hire flight attendants with support from 3 seasoned veterans”.
“New Way is an extension of the Flying D. This page is designed for proud wearers of the Flying D. We support our company and we support one another.” (BUT ONLY IF YOU DON’T SUPPORT REPRESENTATION, THEN WE DON’T WANT YOU HERE OR ON OUR AIRPLANES! ) “New Way is a safe place to come to ask questions,” (UNLESS YOU MAY HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT REPRESENTATION) “share flying experiences, post swaps and drops, offer best practices, and express our desire to continue our 85 year history as union free flight attendants.” (AHHH THERE IT IS, 85 YEAR HISTORY AS UNION FREE AND WE DON’T WANT TO EVEN ENTERTAIN THE THOUGHT BECAUSE AFTER ALL ITS BEEN THAT WAY FOR 85 YEARS!!! EXCEPT OF COURSE FOR THE PILOTS, BUT THEY DESERVE REPRESENTATION AND WE FEEL THAT FLIGHT ATTENDANTS SHOULD JUST BE HAPPY WITH WHAT THE COMPANY GIVES AND THEN TAKES AWAY, ITS BEEN OUR TRADITION FOR 85 YEARS AND WE’RE PROUD OF IT! )
“We do not debate here, we do not actively engage in support for representation. If you desire representation, this is not the site for you.” (SO IF YOU’RE A NEW HIRE AND WANT REPRESENTATION DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE, WE DON’T WANT YOU AND ARE SORRY THAT YOU WERE HIRED. WE OBVIOUSLY NEED BETTER SCREENING IN HUMAN RESOURCES.) “Promoting unions will not be tolerated on New Way.” (WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!! ARE WE SURE THAT SANDY,RICHARD AND JOANNE ARE NOT ADMINS ON THIS SITE?) “We reserve the right to dismiss members(JUST LIKE THE COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO FIRE YOU) if we sense their comments are repeatedly not in line with the mission of our page”. (BOTTOM LINE, WE ONLY WANT TO HEAR WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR AND NOT WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY, ITS BEEN AN 85 YEAR TRADITION AT DELTA AND WE LIKE IT THAT WAY)
WHAT A SAD COMMENTARY. INSTEAD OF CREATING A SITE WELCOMING NEW HIRES THEY CREATE A SITE THAT OPENLY EXCLUDES NEW HIRES THAT MAY SEEK KNOWLEDGE TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION. THIS SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT THE CREATORS OF THIS SITE AND THE BLINDING FACT THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY OR SENSITIVITY TO SUPPORT THEIR OWN BELIEF SYSTEM. SO NEW HIRES TAKE NOTE, UNLIKE THIS SITE THAT WELCOMES HEALTHY DEBATE, NEW WAY WILL NOT. UNLIKE THIS SITE THAT WELCOMES ANTI UNION PEOPLE INTO THE CONVERSATION, NEW WAY WILL NOT AS THEY SAY "TOLERATE" UNION SUPPORTERS. THIS SITE IS BORN OUT OF THE DELTA CULTURE THAT GIVES YOU NO JOB SECURITY, NO REPRESENTATION, NEAR BOTTOM IF NOT BOTTOM BENEFITS OF LARGE CARRIERS. I WONDER IF THE PROUD WEARERS OF THE FLYING "D" PIN HAND OUT BLIND-FOLDS, EAR PLUGS AND GAGS WHEN THEY GIVE YOU THE FLYING D PIN? IT HAS GIVEN NEW MEANING TO THE "D".....DENIAL ! think they'll let me join?

Were you drinking when you posted this? You are the most vocal anti union, anti US Airways person on this board, and you have the nuts to post this? You are an incredible hypocrite...

A few more comments.

"Is the Firm being unusually quiet in regards to UA's buyout and AA's agents voting in the CWA? Did I miss something?"

"Is the Delta spin machine broken? Nothing on DeltaNet about the UA buyout or the AA thing or the VA flight attendants going Union. The North Korean News at its finest."

"This is about workplace democracy and having a legal right to have a voice in determining our future.
Delta is not unique in its strategy to retain all decision making power in the employer-employee relationship. We see other corporations use the exact same strategic human resource management techniques to manipulate its employees from seeking a voice (most recently at Virgin America).
These techniques are a form of psychological manipulation in an effort to convince employees that they are part of the decision making process that affects their lives, when, in reality, the opposite is true.

Employees are "gifted" routinely so they feel their corporation values them. Leaders often engage socially with employees at corporate functions to give the appearance that there is a relationship deeper and more meaningful than just the employer-employee relationship."

"These human resource strategies are designed for a specific outcome: the corporation retains all power to decide AND the employees accept this arrangement.
Would we accept this arrangement in our political system? Would we forfeit our Voice--our right to vote--under any circumstances? Why not just allow professional "technocrats" to decide for us what's best for our society?"

Not drinking. WeAAsles and 700 have been the most vocal proponents of the IAM-TWU alliance to the AMTs and neither of them carry an A&P ticket.

I support Unions and the Union movement. The who what and where doesn't matter to me.
