based on what DL has put in already, the value should easily exceed 10% and probably be closer to 12% so 5% is indeed only half or less of what you should receive. If the percent in Feb 2015 will be larger than last year's, then DL is planning to report some serious profits and you absolutely will benefit, as you well should.
I'm not sure I would plan on at least 8% more in Feb 2015 but it should be 5% or more.
Given that the 3rd quarter hasn't closed, DL couldn't have legally recorded profit sharing for the quarter yet so they I would think they can't paying profit sharing for a quarter for which they haven't closed.
Thus, you still have the amount of profit sharing for the 3rd quarter (which ends next week) and the 4th quarter... and the chances are very high that those values will be above 5% of your salary.
DL and its people are running an outstanding airline, the fundamentals of the industry are strong, and DL's initiatives are delivering results that will further differentiate DL from other airlines.
Celebrate the good news, Kev, and congrats to you and your colleagues.
Here's hoping the pilots will be able to settle for a good contract as well and DL will be plunking down a check on someone's desk at Airbus or Boeing (maybe both) in the next weeks.
