it is just an announcement to a vote.... but how about you tell us how well WN and UA FAs are doing in getting new contracts with the level of compensation increases that DL FAs have rec'd?
yes, DL will pull out the stops just as WN has done.
the difference is that WN also has pulled the checkbook off of the table as well.
12,000 signatures is a great accomplishment.
not really.
DL FAs will make the IAM look the fool for investing so much in a campaign only to come up short handed.
DL people want more money and better bennies... the rest of the DL non-contract employees will get them and the FAs will be told they can have them AFTER they choose to remain non-union.
No just disappointing that you see only what you see. I've heard the sales pitch to the FA's and it is more along the line of... "Just sign it . We'll get a vote. You can vote how ever you want later. It just means a vote and if it doesn't work we can put pressure on for more pay and benefits . It's a win win "
I unlike you, I have no dog in this fight. But I have at least an unbiased view of what I witness. Like I said before vote however you wish ..it is your job. All I know is that I will be flamed for being honest so Flame away.
the FAs just gave pay raises to the rest of DL's non-contract employees
and since DL has already said that it intends to get a contract with the pilots this year, they'll get raises too.
the FAs will be left holding the 'you wanna union, we'll start from ground zero' card.
Just wait for the announcement on Feb 14 from the company telling the FAs that this could be their last profit sharing check because all is subject to negotiation.
Anyone who doesn't think this will happen or something pretty similar to it best remember the pay raises that PMDL non-union employees got while PMNW employees were held to their contract.
DL FAs will vote NO one more time...and continue the track record of voting down unions more often than any other workgroup in the history of US aviation, perhaps all of US business.
I'm willing to pay the first year of union dues for the first DL FA who believes I am wrong - if they are willing to pay me an equivalent amount.
