The IAM Pension: Telling Lies for Votes

pension_lie.png

There is absolutely no guarantee that we will have access to a pension plan if the IAM wins the election. Some very misinformed flight attendants have been convinced otherwise, but it is not true. It would be far more accurate for us to guarantee that we will not get a pension, but we won't go quite that far. Instead, we'll place the odds somewhere around the same as winning the lottery, and people do win the lottery, right?
If you are an IAM supporter who bought into the pension myth, you're probably crying foul right now. That's why we're asking you to click here to open the IAM National Pension Plan Summary Plan Description, then head over to page 6. Actually, we're a little worried that you won't open the document, so we're transcribing the relevant portion right here:
Who Can Participate in the National Pension Plan?
You can participate in the National Pension Plan if you meet all three of the following conditions:
  • You are represented for the purpose of collective bargaining by a lodge chartered by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). The collective bargaining agreement may be with another union if accepted by the Trustees.
  • Your employer has agreed in writing to make contributions to the Plan on your behalf.
  • Your employer is accepted, in writing, as a contributing employer by the Board of Trustees, and makes the required contributions.
The point here is this: To participate in the IAM National Pension Plan, we must negotiate this in our contract and Delta must make contributions for us.
And the reality is this: It will never happen.
Employers across the country are dumping pensions left and right. Boeing just forced an entire IAM workgroup out of their pension plan in the Seattle area. The local lodge leadership and members were adamantly opposed to eliminating the pension, but IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger did not want Boeing to shut down the factory where all of those dues-paying machinists worked, so he used a sneaky trick to get the vote to pass. Click here to read the article that we wrote about this story.
Where there are pensions, they are being eliminated. No company is creating them where they do not already exist. Do not be fooled by the lies that the IAM is selling you. Poor Tracy is too far gone, bless her heart, but you don't have to be lost along with her.

Funny you copy this picture that is on the Teamsters
FB page.
A union you yourself called corrupt.
If you actually learn to comprehend you would see that came from unions4workers facebook page.

Try again.

IAM Negotiates Tentative Agreement with United to OUTSOURCE Jobs
Once again, United just going down the road Delta did pre-merger.

IAM gave Delta its ramp back. But its stupid to point that out.

so you admit all unions are NOT good.
Glad you cleared that up.

and as far as "say" we have the EIG who have made great changes.
And of course
the History of Delta Management who have treated me quite well over the years.

Just to refresh...........
lol. They make "great changes" if the company allows them too. You think Richard needs the EIG to tell him we wanted the 5th week back? Nah. You have a voice as long as its the voice the company allows you to have. EIG can propose a 40% increase in pay and it isn't going to happen.

And how is that Labor Union working for the Pilots of Republic?
How is it working for DALPA? The ones you guys get to "me too" off of all the time?

nice spin but your assumptions are just that...
DL had or has no desire to put DL FA's on any aircraft not flown by DL pilots....remember Swissair...that was one of the changes after that accident
who knows what decisions would be made about those rj's if fuel had not been forecasted to stay high.
717 deal got jobs for DL not just for pilots.
Scope cuts both ways ..its up to you to determine who it works the best for.
Of course Delta isn't going to put its FAs on DCI flights. That is my point. They good. they don't.
So if they truly care about the group like you and baba say why are they not working the DCI flights? Why are were overahuling their engines in-house and other things but they FAs aren't getting any of that work....

Could be it because the FAs are just a number who live under DALPAs scope?

and yes they 717 got jobs for pilots but you pissed away 70 aircraft worth of jobs down the river with the increase in scope.

I pulled it from the 10k did it not come over properly?
only that part. 9E doesn't have any CR7s they are all CR9s.

And yet Delta has been hiring THOUSANDS of MAIN line Flight Attendants and
Continues for the forseable Future . and no we certainly don't have nearly that amount
Retiring. I wish
They hire 100 when they could hire 200 and you are happy about that?
er okay.

I'm not complaining about the extra CR9/E75s. Thanks to DALPA we are getting more engine work. So thanks.

BABABOOY said:
So delta should have NO connection carriers
Got it. How's that working for UAL AA?

How many is UAL hiring ? AA?
Delta use to fly aircraft the size of E75s at mainline. NW even had the baby 9s well into the 2000s.

So its been done before......
But deflect away onto what AA and UA are doing.

AA and UA are adding mire large RJs and NOT reducing small RJs near as much

UA is way beyond where DL was with 7.5

AA and UA have no small mainline jets. All have 319s

You do realize Ron got sacked?

I see World Fraudster is at it again.

What do you call 20 of these at the New AA, from PMUS and flown by mainline?

5203000410_4c5a22976b_z.jpg

Chalk this up to another one of your lies and misinformed posts.

they were PMUS and the fleet is not growing is it ?ow are they 697?

US is still on a separate ops cert

Oh and those a/c have limited scope at DALPA and UA ALPA

Change and deflect World Fraudster.

You posted AA doesnt fly small jets at mainline.

You were wrong and lied once again.

For someone who claims they are an airline expert, your nothing but a fraud and a liar.

The New AA has E190s, a small mainline jet.

And two of the wholly owns at the New AA are getting Large RJs.

Welcome Back Kevin.

Hope MX treated you well.

Can you please inform World Fraudster about how PMNW did better than PMDL in Chapter 11, he is lying again.

Thanks! Hope you're healing up nicely. 🙂

I would go through it all again, but it'd be a waste of bandwidth. Some people are more interested in revisionist history than anything else, even when it means gaslighting those that actually lived through it...

Short version: We collectively came out much further ahead than we would've w/o an advocate in the courtroom. Period. Full stop. Also, IIRC, our "ask" wasn't affected one way or the other by what happened with AMFA.
