what happens when the airline does NOT make a Profit?  Would that airline still give out PS????   give me the higher wages to compensate the loss of PS bec it would be guaranteed compared to the PS    even if the company loses money the higher wages are still coming in..

how about you tell us what the profits in the US airline industry have been in the last 5 years. then back out AA before their BK (but include US) and then tell us why the US airline industry isn't working.



The simple fact is that the US airline industry is more profitable than it has ever been and there is no reason why it can't remain that way.

to continue to hold onto the past is simply foolish - and a perfect way to lose billions of dollars per year for US airline employees.

DL employees believe in profit sharing and they have it. You are the fool for trying to tell them otherwise.

and your statement, as usual, is factually incorrect. DL employees accrued profit sharing even when the company did not report a net profit.

go tell your fellow AA employees how good they have it without profit sharing. They are the ones that need to be convinced quarter after quarter this year.

of course anyone would rather have a guaranteed paycheck than profit sharing.

that is why DL and WN's profit sharing results in HIGHER total compensation than carriers that don't have it.

If you actually have to put forth more effort to ensure the success of the company, you should get a larger paycheck. that is exactly what WN has done for its employees for years and what DL has done since the merger that has resulted in DL employees seeing the highest rates of compensation growth of any US airline employees.

UA has both. WN has both.

but what was the maximum percentage payout of NW's profit sharing?

and while WN employees received 10% last year, DL employees got 1.65X that percentage.

and DL employees have been receiving 2-5% pay raises every year in addition to their PS payouts.

of course airline employees can have both.... to have them in the amounts that DL employees currently have is unheard of in the airline industry.

I presume your comment is in reference to the amount of revenues the company is generating.

If so, other airlines are seeing huge revenue growth as well.

but not all of them are receiving the same growth in compensation.

heavily unionized WN employees have long seen good PS. They still are but not at the same level as DL employees

their wage growth has practically stalled, though.

and southwind, the vote will come when the NMB determines if there really are 50% plus 1 valid cards representing actual DL FAs.
