PMUS still does catering at the hubs and large stations.

We lost utility, I was on the Negotiating Committee, and they were all offered preferential hiring on the ramp, some took those jobs while others went back to stores, or went to work for the vendor.

Our CBA was abrogated, Judge made the members vote on the final offer, do you remember that?

DL only has 12 mainline ramp stations, IAM represented NWA Ramp had 40, DL only has 12 stations, has only cut jobs and stations while PMUS has added.

DL has not brought back line any stations since the merger of NW and DL, but they have certainly outsourced.

Freight was lost at US before the ramp was union, so dont let the facts get in your way.

I didnt fall off the turnip truck either.
preferential hiring does that mean starting on the bottom of the fleet senority list? You seem to  have a good memory can you tell how long it took fleet to get a contract from the time the IAM was voted in to the time a contact was signed. And can DL workers look forward to the  same wait

It took four years as they voted one down and ratified in 99.

The RLA is the main problem with negotiations, no union is immune to the process.

No one can say how long it can take, you are fear mongering.

Not fear mongering, just the facts as you say. Do DL employees realize they wont be getting a raise in the 4 years  it takes to get a contract I think i made 17.61 for like 5 years Thats why  I say if im 25 I vote for the union if im fifty I dont

You can't say it will take four years to get a CBA, it can take less average is two years under the RLA.

For example at DL and ALPA negotiated a new CBA before it was even amendable, yes they did vote it down, but negotiated early, so yo can't say how long it would take, now can you?

No I can't and you  can't say it wont take 4 years can you? I can say it took ME 4 years to get a contract so there is a history and a possibility. Ill bet DL will drag its feet to discourage other work groups

A first contract is always the hardest, if you knew about the RLA and Section 6, you would know this.

I  know a little, but I hope with my dues money the IAM would hire experts to keep me informed. Will the IAM be organizing DGS too?

You will have to ask them that, but I doubt it at this time, they dont fall under the RLA, they fall under the NLRA which means you have to organize each location, not a national contract.

Why do you need an expert to write a bulletin?

I wrote all the bulletins for Mechanic and Related at US for the Negotiating Committee, during the 2004/2005 Bankruptcy, since I was on the committee and the District 142 Communicator.

The difference is AA and US both lost freight in bankruptcy and have the ability to negotiate and try and get it back, unlike DL employees who cant.

And DL has very large operations at CLT, MIA and RDU and they are vendored out, unlike the new AA.
We still have freight at AA. We lost Cabin service and mail house in the BK.

I prefer to think that the precedent set by the pilots signing several agreements very quickly would apply. No one ever wants a protracted negotiation, and if I'm honest, I don't see that much "ask" on the fleet side. Most issues are non-economic, and could be settled fast, IMO.

This isn't about Kevin and how he feels about DL.
You don't know him nor have you ever worked with him.
So this is your latest red herring.
You worship DL like Jim Jones is your preacher.
Get some help.
And you apparently worship the IAM like Chris Mattews worships BaRack.
Get some help.

You work at DL you should know better than me but if a union gets in and gets a contract right away what would discourage the othe work groups from organizing? Thats why I think they would drag their feet or are you saying DL has never been vindictive?

Nothing, I suppose, but I don't really see any "appetite" for organizing outside of the ramp & Inflight groups?
And only you and your friend 700 see that. Of the posters on here that actually work at DL. Oh wait he doesn't and never did work here.

And what does that matter?

You must be part of the CULT then.

Thousands of cards being signed is proof enough.

WF left DL eight years ago and was in revenue management, he sure does have the pulse of ACS and FAs, not!
