I read all sorts of bad stuff on other websites...pax bumped because of weight problems...lots of baggage left off in favor of cargo.

True?

I like to take the kids, end of Jan? Is that still a good time? How's the nonrev list?

You're kidding! The only way to Hawaii is to buy a ticket, forget non-reving.

The problem is the landing gear, its the new gear thats installed but Boeing wants 1mil per a/c to cert. the gear. maybe the directors could put it up from thier raises and bounuses. also having problems getting the a/c through the mod line the 1st a/c that was being moded was a/c 901 and it is over 3 weeks late.

they finally got all the fried wires replaced, has it actually made it to the hanger yet. now they can send 906 in and maybe have it done before 909 is due c-check next month.

Not sure if it made back to the hangar yet........the message said to treat it as it should be for an ETOPS bird from now on.

Hopefully......before the increased Hawaii flights begin.

There are also lots of posts that the FC service is terrible on the HI flights--both the aircraft and the service. Maybe once they add the snack basket to the US West flights it will improve a little.

I've been doing the Honolulu and Maui flights and they have been 85% full. It's true... some of the non-revs going over are not making it going over, but it's not a problem coming back. I've been checking the fares from different cities and they've been advertising between $650 to $495 from either NYC, LAX and PHX which is pretty cheap. My friend tried to use the AWA buddypass and it was priced at $450 which I thought was ridiculous, he might as well buy a confirmed ticket.

The aircraft that we use are the 757s and I agree that we should have 747s over there, but those won't go out full. So I guess that is why they use the 757 in order to make revenue and offer lower fares.

We do 3 services on the way over with the Inflight Cafe. The late night flight coming back, pretty much everyone sleeps. I agree that the first class meal is not good in the morning. We serve a small fruit cup with a warm muffin! They need to upgrade this! it's embarassing to serve, but we make it up by providing a safe flight and a smile.

make it up by providing a safe flight and a smile??? do you really believe what you are telling yourself is true???
absolutely unbelievable!!! i think there is one more star in the doug parker trinity of service expectations that he generically applies to all levels of customers despite their levels of financial allegiance. actually, i think it is arriving on-time with checked baggage...
you need to begin thinking more critically, i.e., for yourself, regarding the wants and needs of our customers!!!

Oh puhleeze! We are the last person that customers see. What do you expect on a midnight flight??? A 3 course meal? Everybody sleeps on the flight and we've been doing it for years! Hp has never had one fatality, US Airways has. If I were a passenger, I would chose safety over service. Besides....Flight Attendants are here for safety, so wake up and smell the coffee...we are a lowfare carrier now. Get used to it.

pride is one thing. taking comparative pleasure in loss of life is repulsive!
not only are you ignorant, you are morbid.
you do not deserve the job you have!

Not only was it rude, it was down right mean.

Many people have lost loved ones and friends to this business over the years, and to make that kind of comment is un excusable.

BTW the F/A position has always involved some type of service. Not just sitting around on our rears reading PEOPLE magazine.
