WTF?!

Why would you encourage *anyone* to set foot in that place? Everytime someone crosses a Sam's or wal Mart threshold, they're contributing to the downfall of the American middle class.

As for your "heart going out" to people being shown the door, is that sympathy only for hub city personnel? Weren't you the one rattling on not too long ago about field stations needing to go?

i have never said the field stations NEEDED to go ... i advocated for the contract even though it had a clause elimintating the field stations by oh what was it 2011? however the company decided to be proactive and has already gotten rid of most of them ...which is of course NOT a good thing ...

As for sam's club VS unizoned costco , i don't think people who are on unemployment insurance and food stamps have the luxury of deciding where to shop based on union afflination ...

I'm not to see that three months after US Airways announced furloughs they made the termination process into a total fiasco. While I can't speak for everywhere, I can say a few things about LAS. Please note that this is all at least second hand. First off LAS Management turned it into a joke of a game to out process. The advance checks were often very short. I heard of one persons final check being $0.00, MANY people claiming errors, and no one saying theirs was right. Supposedly badges for the Airport will be turned off at midnight at the Companies request, yet some furloughees WILL STILL BE WORKING past midnight. I also heard of at least one member of Management being exceptionally rude to people with a very pisspoor attitude.

US Airways, I have never been more disgusted with you until today. You set a new low in the industry.

Several years back, Northwest issued out pamphlets to furloughed employees stating ways to stretch out their unemployment dollars.

Some tips:
Don't flush if there is only urine in the toilet. Only flush if there is #2.
If you go out on a date, have a walk in the park or a picnic.
Don't be ashamed to go dumpster diving.

Those were the few that I remember. It would have been funny under different circumstances.

Wonder if they hired freedom to write that pamphlet.

Freedom:
Have you not figured out by now your company doesn't tell the truth & could care less about you or any employee or customer.

If you haven't checked out the district's website lately might want to take a look

http://iam141.org/

I am really glad to see that our communicators for the district are doing there jobs and communicating

that was one of my major pet peeves with the old regime. I am a strong believer that education is power

and the more educated our membership gets the better and more unified our union becomes.

Great job guys . I really like seeing those station visits and seeing alot more Usairways members even though UA is

the largest of our group it looks like USairways gets as much press as UA . Would like to see more on Hawaiian Airlines though

anyone know where the Convention is going to be this year. A reminder for my brothers & sisters in CLT . in order to be eligible to be nominated

to go to the convention you have to have 4 meetings on the books prior to September. So if your interested in possibly going you need to get on the stick

to get your meetings in. Would like to see new people attend each year . Again the more educated the stronger we get .

i dont know if this is system wide, but we had elections held this past tuesday and the old regime tried making a comeback but lost the elections.

I just got fingerprinted for Workbrain today. Aren't there stations that are still on paper? Shouldn't the money spent on the fingerprint readers go towards the systems in other stations? I thought we played by the same rules in all stations.

Many field stations are still on paper. They have the Workbrain machines but they have yet to be implemented and there seems to be no start date anywhere in the future. They installed the machines and have them wired but we may all be retired by the time they are operational. I'm sure they spent big bucks to buy and install these contraptions.

I thought we played by the same rules in all stations.

Yeah, right. You so silly!

I have had the pleasure of meeting and working around several of the people who have

transfered into CLT. They seem to be adjusting to the new environment fairly well. Most

are from LAS but I have also worked with a Portland transfer. I hope everyone makes

them feel welcome and help them out with this difficult transition.
