He fell into that one BroBilly!
The cacoethes loquendi is a perfect analogy of the rants of Jester.
Do I hear a rim shot?
I hear yahh sounds ironic commin' from the source of a large percentage of same on here... don't yahh love learnin' Greek ?

Guys... if you are suggesting getting back some of the functions like mail etc. Please submit these entries when the proposal process begins.

12 months.
If the DOL is successful, then the likely relief will be that all 10 of the agc's who just lost will be thrown on the next go around and not have to get nominations. Considering that most of the losers lost by between 1,500-2,000 votes, it wouldn't have been a given that they would have received any nominations for a third go around without successful relief.

12 months? You guys and gals will probably have tha IAM all to yourself by then. We'll be merged with CO, PCE will be non union for a while and ramp will most likely be teamsters. Maybe then you'll have fair representation, meaning equal AGC's per membership as opposed to what it is now. Good Luck! EZ.....still missing u o-man.

why would the ua ramp vote in a union that has been voted out by 100% of every ramp person who has ever had one of their contracts? Makes no sense, especially since the attendance policy is the main issue at ua. Obviously, they haven't seen teamster ramp contract attendance policies that are much worse.

If the teamsters have been voted out by 100% of every ramp person who has ever had them then I guess there is no ramp that has teamsters. I was going by the CO ramp that voted them in over the IAM, but do not have a contract yet. Maybe CO/UA will have a vote like DL/NW. Not sure how that works with 2 unions involved. Maybe like US Air customer service, 1 yr IAM, 1 yr IBT.

Kindly reread what I said. 100% of all US airline based rampers who have EVER had a teamster contract have either voted them out or lost their job. 100%.

The US AIRWAYS customer service are not represented by the teamsters, they are represented by the airline passenger service associations which is an independent non-aflcio union. That organization was voluntarily recognized by US AIRWAYS after the IBT and the CWA agreed with management to force a contract without a vote. It's all in the NMB files. The IBT and CWA administer the airline passenger service association. Check the LM1 files on the DOL. Actually, since the Airline Passenger Service Association is an independent, the IAM can raid that group at any time.

The only Teamster contract for ramp or passenger service workers for a US based airline is on Republic airlines. The Teamsters got Republic to voluntarily recognize them during Pilot and Flight attendant negotiations. Not one Republic worker voted on them. In return, the Teamsters became the first union to sign on to a dreadful attendance policy.

Not surprisingly, the Teamsters protected its pilots at Republic and all the fleet service and passenger service workers it represents got laid off. In fact, teamster contracts have provided more IAM jobs than Teamster jobs since The teamsters have agreed with Republic's CEO Bedford to have IAM members do the teamster work while the teamster members were thrown to the street.

It makes no sense for any airline worker to consider the teamster union when they have a strong track record of failing miserably in this industry for non licensed workers. When we were teamsters, we almost voted them out before the Piedmont merger if not for 18 IAM votes that were counted. As much as we told them we wanted more than 4 stations, they just didn't listen. Our Local was in New York and when we had a grievance issue we had to call a business agent in PIT. We ended up doing our own thing on occassion since our non-elected rep was a long way from home. Eventually, we had enough so when it came to a vote between USWA, IAM, IBT, it was no secret that the IBT would finish in last place since we already knew it was not only undemocratic but also incompetent.

Insightful read. B)

It's Latin, but w/e. Mox nox in rem...

That is what the Passenger Service groups needs is the IAM contract like the ramp has. NOT!... haft of CWA stations would be close with have of the agents gone because of the past 60 day furlough with no recall
IAM raid CWA what does IAM have to offer ?????
A pension fund

Are you talking about Post BK Article 9C 9 if so that that article was amended with the Transition Agreement page 5 of 11 article 7 the first bullet point eliminates the 60 day rule....

Kinda like the res agents who lost thier jobs to Manila and San Salvador?

Kinda like the cutting of agents due to Kiosks and Web Based sales and check in?

They all had recall for 4 years not 60 days
All reservations jobs are coming back in house by 2012. When management closed PIT res all employees were guaranteed a job at the remaining reservations center and received $500.00 to assist with relocation cost

Fleet had recall for five years, they 60 day rule was for pay purposes.

Your posting wrong information.

Sorry I did not tell the whole furlough language fleet had recall for 5 years if you came back after 60 days you started a day one on the pay scale

So what about the Res outsourcing and the lack of Technology Protection Language in the CWA?
You really need to look at the CWA contract particularly the scope language on implementing new technology. All reservations jobs are coming back in house by 2012. When management closed PIT res all employees were guaranteed a job at the remaining reservations center and received $500.00 to assist with relocation cost
