Hey Roa, O-man, Joe D...

Couple o' us Cali "NO" voters want in on the BBQ... glad to make the cross country trek.

In regards to the vote, no bitterness, a bit surprised that's all. More relieved that it is over than anything.

Seems I'll need to educate myself on the PE-66 thing here soon. I guess you all do your transfers a little different. One question... any restrictions on how often one can transfer? We have a rule in place in the West that limits transfers to ONCE in a year's time. I know from having worked in 4 different AWA cities on the ramp. Looks like its time to set my sights elsewhere, again, as my station will be a ghost town....

Disregard my question... I was able to reference the CBA for the East and found my answer in Article 8 section F... Thanks again to Joe Dirt for sending me the copy of the CBA!

Robbed,

How did you vote???
That's right, the Class I cities that voted that last POS in, also voted you out of a job, Correct???
Wasnt ABE farmed out after the Class I cities voted the last contract?
most of the class 2 stations voted for that 2005 contract that eliminated them. CLT voted No. So it is incorrect to say the class 1 stations voted in the 2005 contract. It's just not true, the class 2's voted overwhemingly Yes.

Also, Roa, Dirt, Oman, we need to come up with a date for a pig pickn, might even have to pay some because I think it could be a big party. I'll check with the mods if you think we should make this an official US AVIATION party.

Also, pm me if anyone needs to find out how to get a copy of the seniority list.

Actually no Hope. We still have US Airways people in ABE. They may be express but there's still are people up there. B)

Express is not part of the mainline CBA and they dont have a vote.

ABE Ramp is PIEDMONT.
ABE inside is Mainline Express- CWA.

Seniority integration will be interesting as the West has always wanted "stapling". Should be interesting!

Shortly, PE-66's will phase out and "furloughing" will phase in, replacing it with displacement sheets. It will get mighty ugly, just the way Usairways wants it. Doug will reap the bennies on the new merger and leave. Most of AWA were originally American managers so don't be surprised if AA and UA are in the mix.

PHX and LAS will downsize tremendously and O'Hare will be the main focus along with LAX and SFO. JFK and PHL will remain strong and I doubt very much CLT will remain the same size, increased regional jets will replace larger aircraft in CLT.

We are in for the ride of our lives....hope everyone has their seat belts on.

Now that we are all one work group, it's time to pour the energy to the task at hand,
JUNE ELECTIONS FOR DISTRICT 141

The cheap suites crew at US Airways has to go. The agc's who would not speak
out about this contract, knowing it was less than what was offered before, to save
thier 100,000 plus ayear jobs, have to go.

AGC'S jr,pf,bc,ng,sm(vp) all have to go, let's call it a welcome back to the contract you supported.

Let us all center our energies to eliminate the bad apples whom misrepresented us during
these most important times. No more yes men.

The cheap suites could probabley use cheap shoes to match. May I suggest CONCRETE!

I disagree with that assessment. This is just my opinion but UA has no presence in the southwest so I think PHX may stay pretty strong....good wx, better than DEN anyway. Also, when DL & NW merge...CLT will be a real nice competitor for DL's ATL...again good wx like ATL and great connections out of CLT....

I agree phl will stay strong, not sure on LAS tho...

Dear brother Freedom
No pain or anger here and I don't want to see anyone get shoved out the door. You fought hard for what you believed in and for that you should be praised. Its time to bury the hatchet. Figuratively not literally. How do you feel about coming to NC for a pig pickin'? Bring your friend Jester we will have a good time. Just be prepared to run if you hear banjo music. LOL

They’s definitely gonna be Banjo music…cuz we gonna be crankin’… Bluegrass…Hank Jr…n’ Hank 3 !

Attention Freedom…

And all other Westies… valiant battle! Now… if you guys will do the same in the June Officer Elections…we will be on our way to a better IAM !

Vote New Direction!

Just in case anybody didn't know:

They are aiming for Monday to start the 30 day countdown to the first raise.

Hope, if we were still mainline, I would have voted NO on that pos contract. Our station for the ramp was one of the last cities to be outsourced June 5th 2005 thanks to the company and the union contract and I believe that many of these cities that were outsourced voted no. we all did in our city as for the inside, they are mainline now as I think they did away with the Mainline Express thing I will check on that

I will look forward to official results sometime today myself and hope its a positive outcome.
Now one note, some of you might want to look at a Pittsburg Post Gazette article posted yesterday May 9th about a possible merger with UA.
In it Parker has stated and yes I know how can we trust him. If we come together he would be in favor of putting everyone in the higher cost contract.
Darn sure doesnt sound like waiting till what was it Tim 2016 till we got something better if we voted this in and went with UA.
Anyway Im gald we had a good turnout it seems most people due care about there future afterall.
Good luck to all.
I think you should be careful from prematurely suggesting 2016 is implausible. I also don't believe it makes 'good sense' to base the future on 'sounds' of what is said. If you base them on action, and that's the ONLY way you should base them, then you can anticipate the outcome much better.

Parker said this before, regarding the America West/US AIRWAYS merger. When he sez he will just honor the best contract, here's what it means.

With a United merger, it means he will request the NMB to recess section 6 talks after a 'single carrier status' is achieved. Provided one contract is ammendable at a later date then he has a legal argument, thus the importance of Hemenway getting the majority of US AIRWAYS to agree with his extension.

Remember, the United ramp will file their section 6 openers on March 1st [9 months from now]. Once in transition talks his first 'must have' will be to extend the United bankrupt contract before he will agree to any transition. Hemenway did a tremendous job at US AIRWAYS with this technique and its great success will be counted on again as he attempts to use the US AIRWAYS workers as leverage against United workers. I don't agree with Hemenway's methods but they are successful as he forces workers to agree with him, even as they are condemning him. He doesn't care if people MoFo him, as long as they shake his hand in agreement. But Hemenway does need a vehicle to do this, Canale will have no problem doing this.
