I have no idea who the 'keystone cop' was that was in charge of the delta campaigns but I was appaled at the 'entry level' campaign material. This DL/NW thing is going to be a "GO" and the IAM risks a very real possibility of losing ALL NW workers, practically 17,000 members. This unionized industry can not afford such an unaccountable blow.
And over at UA, let's hope there is no election for the PCE folks, given the current players. IMO, these people, even at the INTL level really don't care about the IAM one iota. It's all about filing the reports, and charting the points.

Everyone is absolutely right to question the current leaders, and organizers the IAM currently has in place. After all… they are compensated with our Union dues, and contributions! They are employed by us…not the IAM!

I have been absolutely amazed at some of the antiquated practices this Union (IAM) continues to perpetuate. When an organization of the IAM’s magnitude, gets it's butt kicked, by a few dudes on home computers…they need help!

It’s as if they, (IAM)… are stuck in a time warp... or… freeze dried!

The IAM has become an anachronism… a holdover from the 1960’s! As Mr. Nelson has stated… this Union is in dire need of bright, talented, and dedicated Officers to allow them to advance themselves in today’s ever changing Airline environment.

The Airline Industry has certainly evolved, and adapted well in the current, and future… commercial aviation business paradigm. The question is… can the IAM do the same?

With the upcoming whirlwind of Mergers, and Acquisitions, that are imminent in this industry, my advice to the IAM… is to either adapt… or perish!

Perhaps, this Fleet Membership will have to force this change from the IAM, by electing Officers that we feel are competent, qualified, and dedicated… to usher Fleet Service into this uncertain, and turbulent era awaiting this industry.

If we…Fleet Service, are to be stuck with this Union… we at least, should have a say in the future direction, and representation, that our elected leadership provides.

Vote New Direction in June!

Your damn right about the shitty organizers ….

They couldn’t organize dirt into a pile ….

Our focus is on changing the leadership. After the leadership change, there is much to do to
As aside, I have been told by 'many' that the anti New Direction site is run by KA. I certainly hope this isn't true as it is very unprofessional, poorly written, uses bad grammar, and 'absurd'.
It is quite laughable how the site claims that 1487 supports Randy Canale's Team 2008. Geez.
June 3rd will be impressive and I'll just leave it at that. K, tell me it isn't so?

I'll be down there in June. You, Dirt, Oman, set it up. Strike the 'bad grammar' remark. I have my own style myself called Nelsonics.

It will be the last time we need a big push for a while.

With Randy losing the June vote, I wonder if he will be allowed to sit as a lame duck on the Law Committee and recommend a 100% dues increase this September as anticipated? Dues is very likely to be going up from about $500 to $1,000 a month starting in January due to lost membership. If the dues initiative doesn't pass then the IAM itself will have to find a merger partner to survive.

Now gettin back to those IAM organizers, this union is going to lose its a$$ with those knuckleheads. WTF?

Tim...

Tha solution is real simple…we gotta replace ‘um !

If "we (The Membership) are the IAMâ€￾… as is often to told us by the IAM… then tha time to act is now!

Let’s truly become tha IAM! Let’s govern our own destiny!

do you think the new hires & dues objectors would have made up the 950 from philly who didn't bother to vote....

It doesn't matter. If one person that voted was ineligible, the whole election should not count. If one ineligible voter was found out, just think about the ones that weren't found out. But all of that should have been adverted early on by the iam. Something tells me that they knew what they were doing by turning their backs while it was happening.

Rogue

I know for a fact that new hires (probationary employees) were allowed to vote in my station. I was a teller.

Giants fan---
The company did not allow the ramp agents to vote in the breakrooms. I think the turnout they got at the lodge was great considering that they had to drive over to Essington to vote. The company did not allow you to leave the property on your shift.

I know that hiring is at a standstill on the ramp right now. Cannot speak for the 900 or so who didn't make it over but can positively say they would prefer not to lose their jobs leaving the property and I am sure Management had their "narcs" watching every door in every building. They even have their "narcs" at times on top of the pay parking lot with binoculars. You think I am kidding?

Only in PHILLY. I am proud of the turnout. It would have been a different amount if they could vote in breakrooms as the WEST and I am sure your city could.

"Good Ole Boys" tactic...

Dude, that's just plain false. Not even paranoid crankheads think that managers have the time to stand on top of the parking garage with binos to spot people leaving the property during their shift.

Plain and simple, the company provided vans and motorpool agents in CLT and PIT to take union voters to their local. If they didn't do that in PHL, it's probably because they don't have enough vans that are driveable to accomplish the task.

The company is NOT out to get you, the black helicopters are NOT circling, and for gods sake, they are required by labor laws to let agents vote during their shift if voting occurs during operational hours.

Stop stirring the pot before you spill it and burn yourself.

I dont believe new hires can vote if that did indeed happen then i agree that the election voting should be ruled invalid and it goes to show just how long and where the IAM will do to get that crap passed
