What type of pension did you guys have? Was it similar to ours, and/or operated by a outside financial institution for the TWU, or AA?

Defined benefit, administered by an outside institution. Not sure of the formula, final average earnings, best 3 of last 5 years with a 1.5 multiplier. I never harbored any illusions about getting a pension from this place, keep my 401 contribition in the 20% range and manage it actively.

do you aa folks have a 401k with match? i know when i was with piedmont commuter they have it where if you put 2% in they match 2% plus 1% base. USAirways doesnt do that but I personelly have some going into my 401k with fidelity then of course we have the iam natl pension

I know what that feels like...

Another open question: besides the TWU and IAM, is it possible other unions might try to jockey in for the chance to organize a combined work force? How would this be done, by a card drive? I'd just assume stay with the IAM myself but I am curious.

I don't think so, if I'm not mistaken the big AFL-CIO affiliated unions have a "No Raid" understanding/agreement.I recall the TWU "Allowing" the IAM to continue their organizing drive at CO a few years back in exchange for the IAM backing off at another carrier, Delta if I'm not mistaken.

JFK Fleet Service,

Has a date been set for the membership's vote on AA's final offer? Is there any change in your original assessment, from a prior post, of how the members feel (ratify / reject) about this final offer? Your insight is immensurable and truly appreciated regarding this merger issue. Please know we, on the US MTC. & Related and Fleet Service side, have walked the mile in your shoes. We sincerely appreciate the difficult choices you, as a membership, are being forced to make.

What are the AA numbers for fleet f/t and p/t?

You have been a great deal of help in shedding light on the other side of the master plan...
I cannot thank you enough...

My Dear Mister Roabilly,

Here's a question about some "master plan" as I read both options... AA fuelers will be replaced, and I presume by a contractor. As you may or may not know, but some of the contractors are IAM members who will be replacing TWU workers who were furloughed? I am sure there are some proper guidelines or "etiquette" from one union replacing the workers of another union due to furloughs through contract labor? I know it is not struck work, but it does strike me as being somewhat of a dilemma for the IAM and those IAM workers being ordered to fuel those planes.

So Ponders Jester.

We don't right now, but once this new "Agreement" goes through there will be a company match of up to 5.5%.

May 10-14 have been posted as the voting dates.Funny, it says "Vote as many times as you like via telephone or internet, only your last vote will be counted in the tally".That's gonna' end well...

LGA is a definite NO as is JFK from what I'm hearing from people over there. But the rest of the system? I think it passes in the 70% range.Keeping freight in the "Big 5" will swing a lot of votes to yes. With the loss of cabin service the senior heads will gravitate to freight in order to keep themselves off the line.

JFK,

I’ll be willing to bet that a lot of your vocal NO voters are ultimately going to vote for the agreement. Of course, in a break room setting, the bravado will continue. I think a lot of these folks want to present a tough façade among their peers. When they get home and sit down with the family and reality… things are different.

Further, I have scanned the T/A, and taken note of much of the struck language. It appears that a lot of the job protection, recall, and movement have been restricted.
All of this is indicative of a merger scenario moving forward.

I found Article 13: System Seniority to be especially interesting… is Jetnet your Company employee web site? It appears as if your seniority list will become a fluid daily release of seniority changes to be posted on Jetnet as this process plays out.

It will be interesting to see thier system seniority and how it compares to ours.

does American do their own catering , if we merge with American will we do catering ? ( i think that would be fun )

I don't think so.....
Other than SWA, I think that US is the only other carrier that still does their own.

Doesnt US only do it at the hubs?

And LSG makes US' food in CLT and catering goes there and picks it up.
