Can anyone from a station other the PHX please tell me if the Lead is responsible for the actions of others on their gate doing their jobs correctly? For example chocking equipment, showing up to flts, etc, etc, etc.... Mgmnt here is putting all the blame for petty things on the gate lead, and our grievance committee cant/wont put a stop to it. Maybe it is because they are too busy playing Golf with Management

As for the Leads being responsible for the actions of others... I guess so as it appears the union does not wish to fight the matter.

The Union where? In PHX, or as a whole. Because it has to start with a grievance at the station where the violation occured. In order for it to get to the level where the District takes over. Oh but that would be RR out of PHX now wouldn't it. You guys got what you asked for out there. BTW, the District can't take action on behalf of an employee unless/until a grievance is filed. And that would fall upon the shoulders of the local GC to do. Good luck with that. I hope this clears it up a little.
There was a very good reason as to why PHX had to import Team Leads from places like LAS when they had furloughs last year, as no one in their right mind would choose to be a Team Lead otherwise knowing how PHX operates and abuses them! The leads get all the responsiblity, but none of the authority, and take most of the blame. I am sure that more than a few of the LAS Team Leads who transferred into PHX wished they had taken PHL or DCA instead now just be a ramper, but it is so tempting to be closer to home.

Just got a C.D. removed for a LAS transfer TL who was written up for something he had no control over today. GC in PHX does not agree with TL's being written up for other peoples mistakes. PERIOD.
PRez,
Let's face it... there was a real reason as to why in the thousands of FSAs in PHX that very few of them elected to be Team Leads. In fact, as we know, the problem was so dire for the operations that management was forcing ramp agents to take Team Lead assignments against the wishes of the employees and the union eventually had to fight the matter. Other stations don't have this problem, as not to say, everyone wants to be a team lead, but there aren't critical shortages.
So instead of fixing the real problem (i.e. holding team leads accountable for the actions of other ramp agents), the union forced management's hand to allow transfers into PHX only if the employee agrees to become a team lead, even while management threatened furloughs because PHX would then be overstaffed. So the problem was 'solved', right? And yet, by your own admission, the write-ups continue against team leads because of other people's mistakes. Nothing really changed, except new cannon fodder was brought in from the outside.
So Reviews Jester.
what are you talking about? are you in PHX or somewhere else and if in PHX do you drop and vto all the time?
We can tell when you are getting angry.
