So while I usually get on here to giive out correct information when I have it, and I dont respond to people that are just stirring the pot, I do have to respond to you. Where do you get your information from for clt? And why do you post completey untrue statements like they are fact? The facts are that clt has lost no ft positions, in fact the grievance committee just told us the other day that several ft agents are coming in this week. Many of those are pit guys. This board should be used to debate and educate the membership, not to spread lies that are completely not true. If you really want to educate the membership then check your info. Anyone from clt can tell you that we have lost no ft positions. So what gives?

thats just great I am assuming this G.A is the same that is on the negotiating team representing PHL.. with him and this arrogant p*ick out here in phx. thinking he can go around and threaten people
we are screwed with up coming negotiations. Hope the others have a level head and some knowledge of our contract and what the membership wants.

LAS2PHX,

Are you saying that your Grievance Chair is threatening employees, fellow union members? This can't be, I mean he is such a stand up guy and all.......NOT!!!!!!! I truly believe that PHX needs a person on the negotiating committee, I just think that he should have defered to JK. But he let his ego and political aspirations make his decision. He also should understand that he is not there to negotiate for PHX alone, he is there representing the entire system. Time will tell though, I know I do not have any faith in him at all, the rest of the Committee absolutely, the AGC's you betcha, all together they should be able to contain the ego from PHX, and make him understand what it actually means to help EVERYBODY, not just himself, and his station.

Ron Roth should be on the committee!!! it's time to put our star player up to bat !!

I was looking forward to the upcoming negotiations, but now i'm not so sure. We could end up with less than what we have now. Is GA and PR going to negotiate what the members want or what they want. FO and MF better keep an eye on those two! These negotiations are too important to screw up!

I have said it before, and it bears repeating, so long as we have untrained, inexperienced and uneducated people as the vanguard of this union, the membership will suffer under its incompetance, regardless of the leadership's well intentions. The Executive Committee of the IAM look like a bunch of line workers, with maybe one college degree between the dozen of them. When I asked for the educational and professional background to various other people representing us in this forum, I hear silence. Again, the leadership maybe well intentioned people who are fervent true believers in their cause of trade unions, but when it comes to dealing with corporate lawyers and professional negotiators Management will use, we are at a serious disadvantage.

So Repeats Jester.

If that is the same guy that represented phx in the last t/a . I say NO thanks
I talked to one of the other negotiators that was on that team and said that the phx
rep agreed with EVERYTHING the company wanted all he wanted was a pay raise.

AGCs and folks on the negotiating team have told me that RR was all for pay raises and all at the expense of the stations. I called him once to ask about this and he said, to paraphrase, "if you are at a small station be prepared to be outsourced". He was very short and rude with me. Not the same RR I remember from the early days. If I absolutely had to transfer to PHX, I doubt I would even be able to muster a hello or even look at him. He is persona non grata to me.

PR (aka PRez) is a foolish choice for the nc. Who made this decision and why? He was behind the train wreck called the TWU 580 contract. That contract was negotiated by senior fleet service FOR senior fleet service. It was made for PR in PHX, the woman at TUS, the dude at ELP, the guy in CMH, and so-and-so in Vegas. If they want him on the nc, then have him come here out east for the road show. They can look in his bovine eyes and determine easily that he lacks gravitas.

PR, if he truly cares about the membership, should defer to JK as the PHX rep on the nc.

anyone who doesn't want Ron Roth on the commite is INSANE ... that man didn't just play hardball with the company , he also DEFEATED those of you on the east coast ... no small feat i might add .. if it hadn't been for his plan to have the vote at work who knows how many workers would have turned out ... as it was we had 9/10 workers vote (900 total ), and only 9 voted no ...

I can tell you , he's no friend of the company , and he's NOT keen on Doug parker ... while i personally like Doug parker , i understand that's it's imporant to have someone at the table who is going to be adversiral .. that person should be RR ..

It would be beyond foolish to send a commite in that had ZERO experince dealing with the company and the games they play ... no one knows those games better than Ron Roth ...

Before we merged our two work groups he was OUR man .... now he can be YOUR man .... he's sneeky , he's cunning , and he's intellgent ... he is the best of the best ..

if you want a new contract , if you want the best contract that we can possibly acheive in these hard times , your going need him , like it or NOT ...

I completely agree! If I pay $550 a year in dues, I want to have some serious proffesional lawyers, accounts, ect. at the negotiating table to keep the company from using more smoke and mirrors! I'm sure there is no shortage of 20+ year line workers that are able to speak up for the membership but it takes more than that to play hardball.

Another note. Is the voting on this contract going to be tainted like it was on the last one?! Ie. certain hubs voting on site at work while others having to travel to local lodge....This is not the 1950's anymore. Isn't there a voting process that is online that gives every agent fair chance?

I have been at the table, you dont want a lawyer or an account at the table, it wont do any good, the lawyers, accounts and specialists are better off in the background reviewing the data.

PS. US didnt use lawyers and accountants at the table either, they used them in the background.

Oh yea he defeated us on the East coast & give us this pos contract that has cost jobs, displaced workers, gave us the lowest pay of the majors, loss of pay for sick time. Oh yea this is who we need NOT
