It took awhile for them to listen, but I think the numbers finally got to them. I hear from a reliable source, that clt has up to 4 classes with 20 people each getting ready to start training. Also they are upgrading, and taking Ft transfers into the station. Better late than never I guess.
Maybe I should consider putting in my PE-66 before the company rigs the flight schedule where I am at, and decides to outsource during negotiations...

What does/did it take?
Shame

Charlie:
I keep hearing the same thing but as of now I've not seen a thing. You can thank the people in Tempe who made this schedule & has refused to give us the help we need. We work short every day & quite frankly it is killing us to the point of where folks are having to use sick days. We just can no longer go on like this.Oh & did I mention oji's out of the roof . The bag room alone misses hundreds of bags a day do to this. I can only guess what others miss 🙄

US Daily mentioned that CLT did have openings in Fleet Service. Glad to see something is finally being done. Baggage was getting killed every night when our last 3 CLT flights came in. Taking claims off the first two and then having all the missing arrive on the last one.

Management is under the impression that just because they have the title of manager that they can manage. Each employee is different. Management has yet to realize that. A good manager takes all of the pieces of the puzzle, puts them in an environment where they can do the job, and leaves them alone to do it. When the employees have more experience then the managers, who is really the manager? You can't take some kid right out of college, or someone that has been managing in some other industry to come in with their inexperience and tell a 20, 30, or 40 year employee how to do their job. It just won't work. When Tempe realizes that, maybe things will change for the better.

Does a manager that has never physically loaded a plane before, know by sight how much can fit into a plane?
Does a manager know that agent #1 works super fast, and agent #2 works super slow, and if you want a good job done and the flight out on time that you don't put them on the same team?
Does a manager know who works well by their self, and who needs an army to help them?

I DOUBT IT!

EXPERIENCE KNOWS!

to my fellow co-workers in CLT , it was very refreshing to see each other supporting each other over the holiday period. Just goes to show
you don't have to have the union backing or approval to get things accomplished. After all WE each and every employee are the Union and
We each and every employee is more importantly the COMPANY. Just shows that PHL and PIT aren't the only citys to stick together
for a common purpose. I am very proud to say I work in CLT. Great job folks and I bet some great memories were made spending time with
our familys.

So supposedly LAS, which doesn't have enough people on the ramp as it is, is now 17 heads over. I'm not sure which is worse; that we're short and they say we're over, or that Management says we're over and is wasting all that money on "extra" staff. No, I'm not advocating getting rid of those people, just pointing out that if we're truly over they're wasting a lot of payroll.

Does his have anything to do with cargo operations? Given the modest size of the LAS operations anymore, and Company's stated desire to outsource all cargo operations, why don't you count how many persons work in cargo, and see if it is close to your 17 head count? By the way, I thought I heard LAS was hiring some part-time back and a few from PHX have recalled back after the downsizing from a year and a half ago.

So Recommends Jester.

Cargo has more then 17, I believe 24FT and 13PT, and can't be outsourced. There was a batch of people that came back, but that was before they decided we were over.

I believe this falls under sensitive security information.

I think it's all right, all cargo is 100% screened. In any case, your point is quite valid, I can't edit that post for some reason and have reported it in an attempt to get the mods to delete it.

Does anyone know what the reasoning was for changing the color of the gate valet tags from yellow to blue? Wouldn't you want the tag to kind of...pop? These things are so damn hard to find now, especially on strollers.

i didnt know they changed the gate valet tags. of course ive seen they went from the huge heavy and stndby tags to the tiny ones recently. we never got a memo about it or if there was one the local clueless mgmt never shared it with us

Same here...they just started showing up one day. Those standby don't bother me as much really, but it would have been nice to at least get a heads up that they were coming. I just noticed last night that they have a spot to write in flight numbers and other stuff so you know which flight the bag is actually standby for (helpful when it's connecting). I don't recall the old tags having that, but then again I never really studied them that carefully.
